Hello there. Loved the Sewing Bee last night and I'm sorry that you were unable to catch it @floralies. No spoilers but I think the right choice was made!

Good morning. I'm on parade earlier than usual as we're expecting a man with a new cooker hob between 8 and 10 am. Having cleaned and painted the kitchen recently I've decided to get rid of the gas hob as it releases grease into the air and replece it with an induction. Got a good deal on sale and already have Inox pans.

Lovely sunny day already and highs of 25C expected. My weather service says soil surface temps of 40C so plenty of watering later. Weekly raid on the SM and veggie shops today once chapy's done.

Right result on the Sewing Bee last night and I enjoyed the whole thing. That pattern challenge was fiendish though sewing with a small margin is not new to patchers and I still don't see the point of the vast majority of transformation challenges, especially last night's. Edited to add McCall’s Sewing Pattern M7397 Misses’ Gloves, Arm Warmers, Leg Warmers, Stockings and Boot Covers for fiendish pattern.

Hope everyone's on form, especially those with health worries or post-op. Safe journey to those travelling.

Well b*ms! Turns out our rather expensive kitchen was installed by a chap with cowboy tendencies. Had to have a dishwasher leak fixed recently and it seems he'd used an "illegal" hose extension to attach the outpipe to the sink drainpipe.

Now we find he's also used an ordinary socket and plug to attach the gas hob when he should have used a closed socket with fixed cables. Chappy who delivered and can install is not about to touch that and was highly amused when I dug out my drill and circular cutters to attack the back of the cupboard to find the electricity supply. Now to go and see the kitchen company who are local and then get our electrician to fix it. Good job I have a fully functioning Rangemaster in the annex.

          Good morning all!!
Late start this morning. The weekend has caught up on me, so I took Fizz out sleepily straightaway. Breakfast and hang out a load of washing. Time out today!

            Good morning all,,
Thank you everyone for your good wishes for Robbie. He really is not a very happy chappy at the moment. I just have to wait for the tissue test results which take about a week to come back. I did a Google check on his symptoms, not a good idea, and my worry that he has some type of cancer seems likely, but not definite yet.
When I lost my last dog I vowed I would never have another dog to go through the heartbreak of losing it. It was 22 years before Robbie came into my life so I think he is rather special, but of course, I would. I am just a little bit biased!
Yesterday we discovered a local walk we had never been along which was lovely, along the Pentewan Valley. Not too far to drive, level and amongst huge trees alongside the White River. Very peaceful and calming. I am not sure Robbie was impressed but it was a change for both of us.
It is the waiting and unknown that is so hard to deal with, just as it is when we have a similar concern. We just have to sit it out.

              Morning all.

I remember what you are going through @Goldenlily26. My lovely Border Collie, Tigger, died from cancer when he was 13. Sending sympathy and hugs.

What a PITA @Obelix-Vendée. I hope you get to use your hob very soon.

We are on the ferry, signal will go soon.

                Good morning all,

It’s very close here today, but with limited sunshine.

Just finished Pilates- made myself do it, and glad I did. This cold is a pain, affecting my taste, but it’ll pass. At least I slept better last night. OH sounds much worse than me, with more of a cough.
We’re supposed to be helping at the church fund raiser on Saturday so hope this has cleared by then as I don’t want to pass it on.

Sorry to hear about your rogue kitchen fitter @Obelix-Vendée, and hope you get everything up and running safely soon. We take these people on trust, don’t we, but his actions could have resulted in serious repercussions.

                Safe journey home @Busy-Lizzie.

                  Hello ladies & gentlemen,

I am sorry to hear of your kitchen problems @Obelix-Vendée , however all credit and kudos to you for tackling the back of the cupboard yourself with power tools, very impressive! :dbgrtmb:

There is great skill and creativity in all those knitted items @RowlandsCastle , thank-you for sharing all these wonderful photos.

Best wishes to both you and Robbie your canine companion @Goldenlily26 . I hope that the news when it comes is as good as possible.

Continued best wishes @Blue arbour and her OH.

I'm going to procure and sow some more seeds for late Summer/Autumnal colour very shortly.

Best wishes to all as always.

I've spent (most of) the morning in the small room behind the garage, which we call the Garden Room. Basically, it's just an extension to the garage, but has no power, so has been used as a basic dumping ground, with storage for my jams, stewed fruit, tools, and junk.
We moved here almost eight months ago, and there are still items in boxes - boxes that were placed there the evening we moved in!!
There is some order, but mostly, not.
My patient wife is keen to get things moved (where to?), so I've put in a couple of hours, just to make her satisfied. But most things will "come in useful sometime" - odd bits of wood, rolls of bubble wrap, lengths of expanded polystyrene, umpteen bottles of this, that and the other, shelf brackets, and so much more. Including a dismantled desk, a broken full length mirror, an old circular wooden table top, a single ladies' gardening gloves (nothing to do with me).
                    Sigh.
                    What a treasure trove!!

                      Hugs to you both @Goldenlily26.

@Badly_Maintained they are my power tools, not OH's. Until he retired I did all the DIY and I've now concluded it's best it stays that way.........

@RowlandsCastle chuck out the mirror and make a garden table out of the circular top.

No joy at the kitchen shop - change of personnel and style. I've asked our electrician to come and play and then will see about commenting on their website and/or fb page.

Good shop at the SM today. Lamb's liver on offer! Rare enough they have it, let alone at reduced price so I've snapped some up for OH and me to have with sage and butter and tagliatelle.

                      Get well soon @Blue arbour

Thursday. Wow already 11:45Am. Been busy canceling hotels etc. We had to cancel the car show trip, the destination has too much rain every day there. So free now unless we think of some other trip.
                          @Goldenlily26 , hugs.

Rained a lot yesterday here. so inside stuff. Take care folks.

We're in our caravan on top of a Welsh hill for 3 nights.
                            For July, it is cool.
However, he intends to bbq, though we'll eat in.
There is a tractor run through the village on Sunday. It's a date for everyone's calendar, with a grandstand view from the pub.
Then we have family's dog for a week. He's lovely, but an escape artist.
Disappointing that the trip was cancelled @redstar
I went to a steak house like that in Washington DC. Nuts!
I was asked if I'd like Grey poop on.
                            I was taken aback.
Turns out it was Dijon mustard.

Good afternoon all. Hair all done and tidy again. Felt sorry for my Bestie as she is having an extension done and her drive was being ripped up as I arrived. She is having a shower room built onto the side of her house to make things easier for her Mum when she comes to stay. It got to a point where the downstairs loo became 'out of bounds' for usage as the exterior drains were being ripped up too. That is when I decided to retreat fro home. I'm hoping that situation is rectified soon.
@Obelix-Vendée I can only imagine your disappointment and frustration when the planned job could not be completed. I have a plug in induction hob which I love. Sis introduced me to them in France, where she has one in her caravan. My cooker is a combo of an electric oven and a gas hob but I got fed up with the gas hob for the reasons you mention and bought the plug in induction hob.
@Goldenlily26, fingers crossed here for Robbie.
Love the sound of your 'man cave' @RowlandsCastle oops sorry 'Garden Room'! Smiley man.gif
Sorry to read you have had to cancel your planned trip @redstar but I do think its a sensible move if lots of rain is being forecast.
@Penny_Forthem, I hope the BBQ is a huge success and eating inside seems sensible to me with this unpredictable weather we are having. I think I would have done a double take if I'd been offered poop on! Smiley man.gif

I surprised my wife this afternoon, and sewed loose buttons back onto pairs of trousers. How long they will last, has already been estimated. About a week!!!
