Hello all, 37c for us also here with no breeze whatsoever. All pot plants had a good watering yesterday so they will have to make do 'till tomorrow. I have made some Ratatouille this morning but the tomatoes are a bit scant, I wish they would hurry up and ripen!
That's it for today as far as my exertions go!
Stay cool everyone apart from @PatE of course who would like a bit of heat!

      Good afternoon,
We have a very warm day today, 26 degrees. There is a slight breeze.
OH has cut the grass before it got too hot, and it’s collection day tomorrow, so needed to be done. (He’s much recovered from the virus today).
Our final figure raised on Saturday was £430 and is being donated to guide dogs for the blind.
I’m not sure what we’ll be having for dinner tonight, but something quick and cool, I think - will have to ponder.

Good afternoon all. I did a couple of hours work in the garden before it got too hot. I was looking at some of your quoted temperatures and mine seems to be quite low - well apart from @PatE's!
It is only 23°C here but in the greenhouse its up to 40°C. If that doesn't scare my tomatoes into ripening, nothing will.
I noticed a flat bed truck lurking in the lane outside my crescent and lo and behold but the dreaded temporary traffic lights were lifted off it's back and erected directly opposite my house. I've no idea how long that there are going to be there.
@Goldenlily26. I'm with you regarding the Olympics and watching Andy and Dan was so stressful - like you I am nervous about their next game and I might have watch from behind the sofa.
        :sofa:
@Tui34 I watched Tom and Noah in the diving. They were wonderful but oh my the Chinese pair were magnifique!

@Blue arbour - a magnificent amount and such a worthy charity.
@Busy-Lizzie I have a fan in my bedroom and even on its highest speed it is silent. It is a Godsend in this weather.

            Yeah!
I have just taken a phone call from the vet. re. Robbie.
            Everything has come back negative.
He has to have a follow up blood test in a months time, continue with the food supplement which supports the liver function, for the rest of the month and I can begin to introduce off lead walking gradually.
So keep me away from the idiot who threw down waste surplus fat from the refreshments cooked at a Car Boot Sale held on the Village Green. He didn't think it would bother anyone! No, not humans but hundreds of dogs are walked on the Green every day and Rob can smell a sandwich, crisps or preferably a pastie from a mile away! He even has to keep his own dog muzzled when out walking because he scavenges.
Well he didn't know what to do with the fat cause he didn't want to take it home.
Try putting it in an empty milk carton, of which there must have been several because they were serving tea and coffee at the Car Boot Sale.
Thank goodness Rob is covered by insurance, I know a lot of people cannot afford to pay for their dogs to be covered.
I can now relax, until next time.

                    Monday, 10Am here.
@Goldenlily26 , Chickweed is a natural herb to help liver function. Glad he's negative.

New project this week, the big wooden bench on the deck needs a good cleaning of green mold etc, and fresh staining. Then there is a little wooden table the same to do. Fun. This should take a few days, as mold removal, and then ruff cleaning, then drying time between staining layers, then done for 5 years. Suppose to rain Tuesday--will save that day to go check out some shoes I might like for orthopedic etc,
Have go to also lock in plane tickets to Key West using points we have with a certain credit card. Trip is in October.

Had a horrid experience yesterday, thank goodness for the good cleaners down in North Carolina. The house had been empty for about a week. So I sent her in as new guests arriving yesterday Sunday. She discovered that --probably do to storms, the electric outlets by the fridge had "blown", so the fridge was dead. So she got a extension cord plugged in the fridge to a different outlet to get it going. Just won't have ice for a few days. Now, we have to get an electrician there, more $$$$ to fix. SMH. Told husband we need a policy, if house is vacant for one week, she has to go check prior to any new guests, or some duration of time SMH.

Ok, away to whatever. Take care all.

Oh dear @redstar that is so not what you needed to hear before new guests were due. Hopefully you can get hold of an electrician quickly who won't charge you the earth to sort out the problem.

Yeah, but they will charge $$$. it is what it is. So the week the guests there probably will pay for all this. And that is the business. The electrician bill goes to the expense line for taxes paperwork. So now the guests there need to put up with an electrician disturbing them, just hope this does not hurt their review when they leave. SMH. We really do not make any money on this, the guest income barely covers the expense, and we have to keep anything aside in case of extra unexpected emergencies. Last year was a new washer was needed. It just helps with taxes, shows us in a negative so we don't pay taxes. Fun.

My wife went out to help at a childrens' beach club, which runs not far from here, for the next two weeks.
That left me to - get the bins out for collection, especially the garden waste one (which is now almost full again), put the washing on, do the ironing, and clear the block paving down the side of the house, from moss, weeds, and what looked like seaweed (we're less than a mile from the sea) - the last job with a garden knife, and on my knees.
Now I feel justified in having two of the last four chocolates.

Been a busy day ferrying hub to his medical appointments and collecting grand dog.
When we got the new wishdosher last month, he took it upon himself to be chief operative; happy to oblige, but this morning it was all beeping, flashing lights and the 'pooter says no.
It was still beeping when he returned to his mission this afternoon.
It has a child proof lock! Who knew? Certainly defeated OH for a while (I think it would have defeated our grandkids for mere minutes!!)
Grand dog has settled with our 'pack'.
I am excited to report that I will have 2 courgettes and some tomatoes ready for picking tomorrow.
