I'm not sure this new one will be possible to override by putting your foot down.
The technology is there maybe but it's not mandatory to use it, yet.

Limters can be tricked and swiched off if you know where to look, it's been going on with lorrys since they came in use, but it's know what to do with each vehicles system

From what I have read the speed limiter can be manually disabled, but as with auto Stop/Start it has to be done every time the car is started. Pain in the proverbial!

But why would anyone want to disable something that stops you breaking the law? The speed limiter function that is.

Probably because I break the law every day, most people do.

We have a 20mph at the top of my road, its a main road, nobody takes any notice even the decaying speed bumps are ignored.
Strangely, the road I live in, which is a side road has a 30mph limit.

There very often doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to how they set speed limits other than to catch speeding motorists.

Now dont get me going on the placing of bus stops,:yikes: most of them around here a down right dangerous.

Because there are times when the actions of others require a rapid response.

No they don't. The people that do are the reason why the country is in such a mess.

With internet enabled cars they will know and issue you a speeding fine automatically every time, probably will fit credit card readers in the dash so you can pay your fine there and then, or self drive you to the nearest prison. It's not too far fetched.

Hopefully, but they will need to build a few more prisons for the likes of Pete.

Can anyone say, hand on heart, they have never broken a speed limit while driving.

Possible that there are a few out there but most drivers are not angels.

                      Never been caught though!

I don't think going 24 mph in an arbitrarily chosen 20 mph zone is what has brought the country to its knees. ;)
