I was just reading this article in the Guardian about fund raising for Trump coming from crypto currency. I was struck by the word “understated”. Should it not be “overstated”?
Isn't it just a direct quote? They could add (sic) to denote the mistake but presumably want to keep the integrity of the words of the interviewee.
I thought good newspapers also gave commentary on what was being quoted. Nowadays I wonder whether 'good newspapers' is an oxymoron.
But am I right in thinking it should say overstated? My brain is a bit fuddled these days and I get words muddled up. Been awake since 12.55 am. No sleep. Don’t know why. Old age. What a bore.
