What's your weather like August 2024

Are swimming pools 'a thing' there, @Victoria? It makes all the difference when the temps climb over 28C, being able to cool off and get some gentle exercise at the same time Given what you've said in the past about cheap water bills, it might be worth thinking about?

It’s raining. It’s only light rain but it’s quite dull and gloomy compared to recent weeks. The sun must be taking a sick day.

Wet, windy start here, and it's been wet and windy all night, and to remain so all day, with weather warnings in most western areas. To ease tonight. O'night low was 14 degrees [17 just now at approx. 8 am] and the predicted high is around 18 or so.

Yesterday was largely cloudy but dry, with a few spots of smirr and light rain now and again, until 5 pm when the rain started. Breezy but mild. The high was about 17.

Yes, especially in villas. We live in a small farm worker's cottage with small inset windows and 60cm walls inside and out so the cottage is cool plus we have a/c in kitchen, lounge and both bedrooms (and Baffa, detached lounge). Our plot is small and neither of is are water babies (although we prefer a bath to a shower). Water rates go up here drastically when you have a pool. We don't want a swimming pool We considered putting a plunge pool where the 90,000 litre cisterna is but made a raised patio on it instead ...

 

Heavy cloud, but mild. Seems strange that it will be 24c with no sun at all. And it will rain later, which is good as the lawns are parched and turning brown and crispy.

Had a fair bit of overnight rain and more predicted today, 19 degrees so not cold.

 

Glorious sunshine here at Cromer ! up to around 23c so a 2nd visit to the Pier. Nights are drawing in now .

 

We are 30c already so watered my nursery and back in now as a/c automatically came on in lounge. Munchkin followed me out and back in, now on windowsill West facing. Van will stay out till 8pm hiding in the shade. I read an article this morning by Meteored Portugal which says we will be like this all week, hotter Central and North.
