Did you see the item on G's World about the chap with all the Sarracenia/pitcher plants @NigelJ ? He was absolutely fascinating - and a very good presenter in the making! Some of them were stunning, and it's not really my thing at all.
I like that yellow Crocosmia you posted a pic of too.

No I didn't; for some reason I've never particularly liked GW.

 

I can understand that @NigelJ - I regularly stopped watching it for long periods - for all sorts of reasons, but mainly because they tended to think everyone has the same climate and conditions, which is very misleading. I feel it's lost it's way in the past five or six years - or even longer than that, but I started watching again this year and it's been better, apart from some of these viewers' gardens which are often embarrassing, and frequently a pointless waste of time IMO !

He was a young chap who'd bought part of a huge collection that the owner was no longer able to maintain. He was delightful. His other passion was Aloes, and he's propagating them as well, and creating new varieties. Very dedicated.

 

Fuchsia Annabel, growing in a pot on my patio. Leaves are very spotty, rust I think.


Lovely delicate fuchsia growing in my neighbour's garden and poking through a gap in the laurel hedge. There's a happy insect that's found it too, you can just see his bum sticking out on the right-hand flower.

 

Yes you're right, CarolineL it sometimes grows in the cracks in the driveway and thanks.

I don't think you get much time to sit though - looking at your pix.

I used to have one of the hardy fuchsias @Escarpment - Hawkshead. It was always lovely, especially at the end of the garden in a shady site. I've used the white Cytisus [broom ] for that too, and it was always lovely in the early evening light.

My lower garden today, most of the perennials are now in full flower along with the grasses.
