If I woke up to find a Banksy on my side wall, I'd paint over it.

Not a chance. I'd provide a bill for the paint used, and time taken.

My house is unpainted brick so I'd have him round with the paintstripper to fetch it off!! :old:

It's not that I don't like his art (the recent animal silhouettes are rather good) but I can't agree with painting on other people's property without getting permission first, no matter how talented and/or famous the perpetrator is.

I've often wondered how anyone manages to "sell" the artwork when it's on a house wall ? Bit difficult to scrape it off and resurrect it elsewhere and not ideal to be left with a 3 walled house
Not just Banksy tho - there are some very talented graffitists ( ? ) out there How many do it without the consent of the owner would be anyone's guess.

I had a leaflet from a gutter cleaning company saying “we have just cleaned the gutters at your neighbour’s property at no 9.” No you haven’t, I live at no 9 :rolleyespink:. I got someone else to do them .

I was watching the news earlier and they were going on about the problems with the water companies and mentioned the problem they had in Brixham earlier in the year.

They went on to say people there were told to boil their water for 8 weeks.

Seems to be a long time to boil it for, I would have thought just a few minutes would have been enough.;)

Is there any such thing as a competent broadband company? Honest question.

Serious level of moaning ahead. :th scifD36:

For yrs we have been told the police service is far too stretched to investigate crimes and yet suddenly arrests, court appearances, and sentencing can be done in days.
For yrs we have been told anti-social behaviour cannot be dealt with and yet a 12 yr old with no previous offences can be remanded in secure accommodation for lobbing a brick and kicking a vehicle.
For yrs we have been told hate online cannot be addressed and suddenly it can.
For yrs we have been told inciting violence against women is just one of those things, and yet choose another group and the forces of order rush in.
For yrs the BBC has claimed impartiality and that it reports on all aspects of events. Ha ... ha ... ha!

The idea of policing by consent moved onto rocky ground during the pandemic. Now it is right at the cliff edge, IMV.

                              *and breathe*

I think someone did that - I seem to remember someone's gable wall being done and they weren't happy.
If I went and daubed stuff over a neighbour's wall, I bet I'd be lifted quickly enough, and yes - with all the doorbell cameras around now, how come no ones's dobbed him in?
Then charged him for the paint, and the time taken to re do it....

I had to laugh at the photos of the blokes nicking the satellite dish. It was mounted above all those shops etc, which had graffiti all over the shutters and walls. Why should he be treated any differently just because, in theory his is 'pretty'? I bet if some lad came along and started spray painting those areas, they'd be nicked.
