Thank you @Bluejayway . It looks even better as the sun moves round.
Always shady areas in the hot sunny weather. Always sunny areas when it's shining.

          Good morning,
it’s bright and blustery here at the moment, though showers are in the forecast. However, I’ve risked putting out some washing in the hope it dries before any rain comes - there’s a lot of warmth in the sunshine.
Lovely photos of your garden @RowlandsCastle, it’s looking good. To have nice neighbours makes all the difference, too.
Just enjoying a coffee before I decide what to do next.
Hope everyone has a good day.

I have really enjoyed my vicarious journey through France, @Obelix-Vendée. Having been to a lot of places you mention, it makes me want to return, though, like @Ergates I wouldn't feel confident driving there now and my dear hub doesn't drive.
              Lovely garden @RowlandsCastle.
We are going to take some stuff to the caravan today, as we plan on staying over the bank holiday weekend. The forecast doesn't look too bad.
There is a lovely little garden centre in Ruthin, which I want to visit, as it sells seed potatoes singly, rather than in one kilo bags. I usually buy 6 to grow in potato bags for Christmas. Last of the big spenders, me!

                Good morning all!!

Great route @Obelix-Vendée The Luberon area is an area I adore. Surprised there wasn't a lot of lavender around Digne but glad you saw lots around PACA. Have a lovely lunch with BL. 7D701B6F-1F26-4A85-9A87-06EEE51490F1.jpeg

Tuesday. 9AM. Still on coffee. Mentally listing things to do.
Nice and chilly. Just continuing with house and trip organizing.
My hummingbirds about this morning, seeing about 3 of them. Usually that is the amount I see every year, thinking there is 2 couples, and then babies somewhere.
When we leave will take down the sugar water feeder, they still have lots of flowers to feed on. Mid September they head south.
                  Take care all.

Hello all, not long back from a marathon shopping trip at Dunelm. Managed to get a plain white textured cotton duvet set as well as a fitted sheet but had to ring OH to take the mattress depth measurement as I'd forgotten they now come in different depths. Bought various bits and pieces including a sturdy fold up plastic footstool for the garden which I can leave out in all weathers.
We stopped for coffee and cake mid-day then went round again! Tired but happy now.

I've got to go out to battle with the green bins later @Ergates. The gardener I employed to cut the front hedge recently filled the old one we keep by the hedge at the bottom of the garden and as we don't pay for that one, so I need to transfer it's contents to the bin we do do pay for, if that makes sense. Our ex neighbour gave it to us for use as a spare when he moved.

My OH had strict instructions not to do anything silly when I went out this morning @RowlandsCastle - he's still using one of the hospital sticks just for balance but is otherwise quite mobile. When you mentioned the castle at Crickhowell, did you mean Tretower? We love that one.

Just seen the weather forecast for tomorrow, crikey, windy doesn't cover it. Gusts up to 40mph apparently so I'd better make sure there's nothing lying around outside that could take off. Ought to do that now while I think of it.

                      Hello all.

We enjoyed meeting @Obelix-Vendée and Possum this morning. @Ladybird4 they didn't stay for lunch, they had bought a picnic and had planned a picnic spot. They had coffee and biscuits but Obelixx had had a good breakfast so didn't want anything. We enjoyed hearing about their travels, the previous home in Belgium, the garden in the Vendée and Possum's studies.

It's been a lovely day, sunshine and not too hot. I vacuumed the leaves on the patio and sprayed it with the French equivalent of Patio Magic.

I do really mean Crickhowell Castle. Tretower is a separate property. An interesting circular tower, and an unusual one.

I’ve never deadheaded my Japanese anemones @RowlandsCastle Do you do that to stop them seeding or does it encourage more flowers?

                              Afternoon everyone.

I’ve had a lazy day post a bonkers shift yesterday. Just thinking what to have for tea… I really fancy something and chips as my canteen chips lunch was thwarted yesterday.

I hope everyone is doing ok and something good has happened for you all today - a sweet treat, something to smile about or maybe some good news?

I initially did it to stop them seeding, but accept that it does probably encourage more flowers - which in turn requires more dead heading, to stop them seeding.
It does create more work for me, but more importantly, it provides more flowers for the pollinators.
