After posting my early morning greeting I caught the news and it was grim. I think I'm going to have to stop watching the news as it certainly puts a damper on things. 3 more precious little lives needlessly lost.

Good morning @Tui34. Today my great nephew - brother of the twins - gets his GCSE results. Fingers crossed for him and all the other youngsters waiting nervously to see how they have done.

Good morning @Ladybird4 , @Tui34 and all to follow!

Well, who forgot to put the SD card into the wildlife camera last night? Hmmm... nobody to blame but myself. However, I've no doubt it was the hedgehog(s) again eating the food - lots of crumbs left, so hopefully no rodents mopping up the leftovers. No sign of the third hoglet since we saw it one evening, but I'm hoping it's now spending all its time with mum, who is sufficiently well fed herself to produce enough milk. Perhaps we'll see it with her when it's big enough to learn to forage for itself.

The "grass" needs a cut, because the plantain flowers are a good 25cm tall (!), but it keeps raining. Not all of every day, but enough to keep the lawn soggy. However, this morning I'm off to the library for our monthly book club meeting; we're discussing "The places in between" by Rory Stewart. A gripping account of his solo walk across Afghanistan in 2002, just after the fall of the Taliban, and definitely an eye-opener as far as I was concerned.

I can't watch the news either, @Tui34 . I get enough pictures from the radio news...

Hope you all enjoy your day!

                Good morning.
I've recently read that book, @Liriodendron - very interesting! I found it strangely detached though. Perhaps that's just how he deals with things.

I too performed at the Albert Hall, in the early '80s I think - 'fancy skipping' in leotards with the Girls' Brigade . I remember the warren of changing rooms. I doubt very much will have changed! I think a lot of choirs suffered from the COVID period, @Busy-Lizzie - I'm sorry your OH's one never recovered. Carnegie Hall though - that must have been amazing. Glad that you and @Obelix-Vendée met up and had a nice time.

I do hope there were no reoccurrences, @Penny_Forthem and that you are feeling much better today.

My 'nice things' yesterday (@AuntyRach ) was that it was a good temperature - sunny with a cool breeze - for my volunteer gardening day, so we got lots done. Then Celeb Race Across the World in the evening.

I wondered about the detachment, @LG_ , but I think just surviving walking 20 miles per day through 6ft snowdrifts whilst suffering from dysentry, eating only bread and rice, might have left no room for emotion... and Stewart does seem to have the "right" sort of background to have developed a stiff upper lip (old Scottish family, father a diplomat who taught him martial arts, Eton, army...). I'll be interested to see what others think about the book this morning.

Ours look dainty enough, but they are in so many places that I would want to plant other things.
But I guess that's normal with a relatively new garden. We've got plans, but it's finding the time to carry them out.

                          Good morning,

A very blustery morning but dry for now and not cold. Looking at the black sky, though, I don’t think rain is far away.

Our wedding anniversary today, but we’re going out tomorrow. The weather was not like this on the day, I’m pleased to say - at least not when the photos were being taken - it did rain hard during the reception, but we were all indoors, of course, so it didn’t matter. It also cleared away quite quickly.

The news does, indeed seem very grim lately - so much savagery around. I suppose that’s the nature of the beast (news, I mean) - good news seems not to be such a priority, even though there’s plenty around, it’s just not given the same focus. Those poor children and their Mother and the poor delivery driver, trying to do his job. So much wickedness. Their families will be distraught.

Hello all, I seem to be having trouble catching up with you all at the moment, happy wedding anniversaries to @Blue arbour and @Obelix-Vendée.
@LG_ I also performed at the Royal Albert Hall in the 60's!! with Girls Brigade, can't remember much about it though but I do remember also the warren of changing rooms.
We had a very chilly night last night with a heavy dew this morning, but temperatures are on the climb now.
We had our septic tank (it's old) emptied this morning, it wasn't too bad but we have some drainage issues in the garden which no one seems to be able to solve!
The farmer's been to collect the bales of hay from our field also this morning, we will have to remind him that we would like some manure delivered in the Autumn.
                            Have a good day all.

I wouldn't know how to start an album, let alone how and where to find it to continue to add to it at a later date.

To me, an album is either a physical book to hold photos or prints, or a record (LP).
