Not the case of the WASPI women...they'd just be happy if the government, any government would act in some way on the clear-cut result of the Ombudsman's report and pay up. As the group fighting for us says....nearly 300,000 women have died without ever seeing a sniff of the pension that they contributed to.

And while I'm having a moan...... Orange! WTF? I want to change my mobile 'offer' from the paltry 100mb data I currently get to a reasonable amount. As an existing Orange customer, I've got a few options but they're all dearer than the equivalent offer to a new customer. Grrrrr! It's sooo wrong! I really don't want to change to a competitor as Orange own the infrastructure and their customer service and coverage is the best here in rural France. I do deeply resent being held to ransom, though, when preferential treatment is given to provider-hoppers :wallbanging:

Somebody here complained last week or so that people are too lazy to take care of their front garden.

I don't have a front garden. We have an area to the right which is Council and used to be a lawn, until one of the previous owners had that stupid idea to put a membrane on top and probably 3 tons of gravel. That was at least 20 years ago, and membrane and gravel are impossible to tackle for me, because I don't own that piece.

Our part is crumbling concrete and due to recent building activities in the neighbourhood in the last 4 years all kinds of weeds including completely new weeds happily self-seed all over our entire area! and we all are literally overwhelmed by these nasty plants.

But who is tackling the weed problem in all the years since living here?
        Me. No-one else of my 3 neighbours.

Like Mrs Shiney, I need rain to tackle the front of the house.
It started raining at 3 am and I started at 6 am. It doesn't look perfect, I can only do what I can.
When I had the accident last year, it was impossible to do something, an opportunity all weeds happily seized and spread.
I can now minimise the damage, not solve it.

The food in hospital was so awful when I was in last May I ended up living on fresh fruit. My daughter works in Food Hygiene and told me never eat salad in hospital, also that hospitals are the biggest source of food poisoning.

I was going to buy my usual cereal bars in Sainsbury's yesterday. They normally hover around the £1.85 mark.
Yesterday the 'normal' price was £4 but I could get them for £3 with my nectar card!
They also do the higher unit price for bulk items trick too. Often 2x1kg bags of rice works out cheaper than a 2kg bag.

I'd noticed some Sainsbury's prices have shot up again recently.

My moan today is the weather.... we were booked to go to Hellingly Festival of Transport today and it had to be today as my daughter took her last day off annual leave from work specifically to go. It was raining when we left this morning, but not terrible until we got onto the M25.. by the time I was on the A22 heading south, it was properly OH MY GOD territory.

We did go round the show, but nothing was in steam or running and a lot of stuff was under covers because of the rain, so it was a bit of a wasted day.

The weather today has spoilt lots of events I suspect. In Gloucester they had their Retro Festival with display of vintage and classic cars, vintage fashion, retro music etc. It's normally a great day, but it absolutely tipped it down until mid afternoon. I feel so sorry for those who have put so much effort into creating the event.

When I moan to people about the weather I always seem to come up against individuals who say, stop moaning, you cant let the weather get you down.

The weather makes or breaks so many events in this country.

Absolutely. I don't know many people who weren't "got down" by the appalling 'Summer' last year. We had about 2 weeks of decent weather in our area. At least there has been a lot more warm weather this year so far.

last summer was much better here than this year has been.

Summer didn't start until the last week in June this year then we had another week towards the end of July, August has been slightly better but still a bit hit and miss IMO.
