Update: the water butts collected 80 l rain which is around 27 l per sqm. That is a surprise.
17 c in the meantime but feels warmer.

It did brighten-up here but temperature about 18 only. I notice the forecast for 25 and sunny at the end of the week has diminished to 21 and sunny spells - boo.

Our forecast says the rain will stop about 7 p.m. and the sun will come out but they must be in a different time zone. The rain was good whilst it lasted but stopped at 5.05 and we have a completely clear sky. A slight breeze and cool.

We didn't get as much rain as I first thought. When it stopped mid afternoon I checked the gauge and it was 8mm, still a good soaking anyway.

The sun is out now and it's a pleasant evening, 20c.

Our patio is dry (it's a better weather forecaster than the weather guessers ) and no rain forecast in the next two weeks.

We have a lunchtime garden party today so the sun will be welcome.

Although it didn't feel nippy out there half an hour ago our heating has just come on - so I have turned the thermostat down. We normally never bother to turn the heating off as we just have it set at a comfortable temperature all year round. The theory, it usually works well, is that if the temperature drops to the level we set it at we need it on. :noidea:

We're the opposite of you @shiney - there's hardly a day without rain for the next 6 or 7 days. One or two have only got a little though, and tomorrow and Wednesday are looking pretty good.

Today, it's a damp, breezy start. O'night low was 9 degrees [10 just now at approx 8am] and the predicted high is about 13, due to those strong gusty winds and rain coming back in soon, and remaining for the rest of the day. It's off just now.
Yesterday was a mix of showers, often heavy, sun and those gusty winds again. The high was 15/16 degrees for a short while when there was some sun. I managed one cup of tea sitting on the bench when that was happening

Sunny and quite breezy but a fresh 18c ... going to the low 30s. I am beginning to think we are on a dessert island.

A heavy shower first thing then windy but sunnyish all day. Cool wind.

This morning is fresh, chilly, sunny, there must have been rain in the night, everywhere is wet.

Sunny with a cool breeze. But it goes downhill at lunchtime with some rain forecast.

But look at September! It could start with a week of full sun and reasonable temps. But it usually is like that.
