I used my hedge trimmer for the first time this afternoon (thank you @Ladybird4 ) having left my wife to try and work out why her business website has gone kaputt.
I managed to do the far end and one side, before, THE RAIN CAME! What a blessing - although it didn't last long. At least I won't have to water this evening.

As for the hedge trimming, I can truly say it's far easier and quicker than shears.

There's still the front garden (both sides, plus inside and outside of the front), one entire side in the back garden, and the tops all around, which despite the lengthy pole, plus being over 6ft tall, I can't reach fully.

Still, it's a start, and I'm happy to have an easier job.

Mrs JWK suddenly asked why I was reading about Bedtime and Sex Seeds?

The book is a bit more mundane

Finishing a very enjoyable library book - The Beginner's Guide To Breaking and Entering by Andrew Hunter Murray. It would make an excellent film or TV series. :blue thumb: Great read.

September arriving! :) Made it through the summer with no extremes of heat or drought. Excellent. :blue thumb:

I'm meeting a friend for dinner (that's 'lunch' if you're posh !) She'll talk about her cats and I'll talk about my garden, and probably about 3 hours and several coffees later we'll still be there chatting away :heehee:

I loved the smell of freshly mown grass as I walked the dog around the Village Green and cricket field. They were preparing for a match.
The smell reminded me of child hood weekends hearing dozens of mowers going as gardeners marched up and down their lawns on their week end lawn mowing sessions. Very evocative.

After a spectacular thunderstorm last night, the rain gauge has 35mm in it. What a relief knowing that the garden is watered all over, and the tanks and ponds well topped up :)

I'm happy in Dordogne for the same reason as you @noisette47.

I hope you enjoy your lunch @Michael Hewett. I'm posh! Though my Mother used to say "dinner is the biggest meal, otherwise it's lunch and supper".
