Sadly, at the moment, politicians of all parties seem hell bent on screwing us all.

It only gets one sided when there is nobody posting of a different opinion, surely all opinions are valid even if you dont agree with them.
I dont think politics is ever clear cut, there will always be an up side and a down side to all parties.

That takes me back to my "When I was a lad" times.

Back in the late 50's and early 60's I ran a youth club, with others, and it was not only an interesting place to socialise and keep us from getting into trouble but it also gave rise to the club members over the age of 12 being in groups that went out and helped in the community. That help ranged from trying to do good deeds (became a bit of a competition) to setting up an "Adopt a Grandparent" which did shopping and odd jobs for lonely elderly people and made sure they had an hour visit in their home every week. As a side effect it also helped with our education as some of the "grandparents" would assist with homework problems where parents were not capable in that subject or too busy to help.

It just took a good driving force to get it started.

Yes @shiney. Socialism with a little 's' rather than some imposed political doctrine that doesn't help communities grow and support each other.

i'm not waiting with bated breath to see if Starmer delivers on the "service" ethic in national government and can't see it happening much at local level where i really counts.

We had some road works here today, why do some people have to hit the cones over on purpose (person in car and hand out the window to knock it over), they are there to warn people of danger!!!!a hole on the side of the road, then get a tractor + muck spreader drive's over said cone(these are the big cones not the small ones) why can you get out and move it

Anyway i've been out and put cone back together and it now doing it's job again

According to The Times yesterday, Reeves has been warned that she will have to look at radical reforms, such as means-testing state pensions, to achieve the scale of savings needed in the years ahead.

Radical idea -we could stop sending money to other countries and use it for our own population.

They don't like pensioners as they are not productive. We have no purpose.
