Strange plants

    Six of these have just appeared in a trough and wondered what they were.

      I think you need to ask yourself what was growing in the trough before, or nearby, that might give you a clue.

        It has had various in it which includes reddish. None of this has grown properly as the weather here in the Pennines has been so cold and wet. What has growth has been inedible and misshaped.

            I'm not too sure. We ended up binning most of the salad stuff that we grew - the few that tried to grow that is. Same with out neighbours.

            OH thinks that they are radish that we put in a while ago. They seem to have grown in a bit of a strange way though.

            It's been one of the worse summers that we have had. We put in four lots of lettuce and didn't have a single lettuce for out troubles.

            We are about 750 feet above sea level and quite exposed. It's the first year that I've put the central heating on in August!

              Perhaps you need the shelter of a walled garden, styled on Rivington perhaps?
