You might be right @LunarSea , I just noticed it bobbing up and down and jumped to a conclusion that fitted at the time:roflol:

Lucky shot. This bee flew in whilst I was photographing African Hemp flowers in Sheffield Botanical Gardens.

I was very surprised to see this Nuthatch sat on our window ledge, after watching it for a while it flew to our feeder so seems ok.

Yes definitely a youngster. You can always tell young of any creature because they have a certain 'look' about them. The nuthatches have been absent again here in the last few weeks, but with the season changing more quickly now, they'll hopefully be back soon.
I forgot to add pix I took a few days ago. It was one of those nice days and I actually remembered to take the camera outside - for a change. Everything was out and about!

I love how the bees disappear completely when they go inside the Ipomoea flowers. There were so many all trying their luck, and I just caught this one before it vanished

The most frequent flyer over the garden is the North East Air Ambulance! However, we do have a barn owl that patrols at dusk. Having a Site of Special Scientific Interest opposite the house, there's quite a bit of wildlife around. There are several other birds of prey that I've seen. Kestrels most often, but I did see a couple of much larger birds circling in thermals the other day. We also get lots of bats in the evening, flying up and down the neighbour's drive. I suspect the warm gravel attracts the insects in the evening and that attracts the bats. Lots of bees and butterflies, but very few wasps this year.

EDIT - I just did an image search on the birds of prey I spotted and Google says they were a Peregrine falcon and Eurasian sparrowhawk.

Hope the wee chap's ok @Jiffy. We have bats here, but at this time of year, I'm usually asleep on the settee when they're out and about!
Thank you @cactus_girl . They were a little project borne out of the base of a defunct fence post. I had to get rid of the concrete, and it occurred to me that I could make something. The smaller ones were done from scratch. The big one needs a bit more attention, but I've had too many other things to do. Not happy with the grey paint, but I was experimenting with that too. They're in the shade so they get some algae on them anyway. The birds like them - as you can see from the pic, but they also sit on the rowan above them, with the inevitable result
