Baskets and tubs of Petunia Red Velour are still looking ok. I haven’t dead headed them this year as it takes so much time and I don’t like the sticky residue it leaves on your fingers, it doesn’t seem to have made any difference.

My roses are having a second flush, this one is Eustacia Vye.

I've been thrilled with my first experience of Red Velour. They really are something special. Going to try the other colours next year too.
Haven't been deadheading either!

 

The stickiness is what puts me off buying them but I may try some next year and not deadhead them. Late partner Beryl used to love them (and I put up with the stickiness then), so it would be nice to buy some next year in her memory.

Actually I like different shades of green and different leaf shapes.
Big leaves are good also.

 

I've not taken many pix yet, but I'm enjoying others' pix.
My most recent water lily buds got annihilated by the rough weather, just when they were about to do their thing. I'd split it last year, and the division had some earlier on, so at least I got to see some!
I agree - contrasts certainly don't just need to be with flowers.

Totally agree. I only have one big leaf and that is my new Hibiscus mutabilis.

 

The pink plant in a pot is the Oleander I bought this year, it looks pink but its actually red.

 

Ah, I put a small white Oleander in the bottom border by the orchard to fill the gap where the Myoporum overhung This week a small red Oleander was added so the two can grow up together. They have a lot of growing up to do.
