I wasn't sure where spider photos were meant to go, so thought maybe they should have their own section. Hopefully others have some photos of some scary ones to put up.

My spider seems a friendly one, although it did stick two legs up when I got too close. I think it is a nursery web spider.

I'm not so keen on the spiders, mainly because my wife would prefer them NOT to be in the garden - and definitely not the house!! However, I do love the intricacies (is that the correct spelling?) of the webs.

Lovely. I'm very fond of spiders - inside and out. Had to be careful when I was putting stuff in my storage cupboard, as there was a large one hiding there under a piece of carpet, and it would have been squished.
The webs in proper autumnal weather are always gorgeous, so I'm looking forward to getting a few pix over the coming weeks and through September.

I've never seen a nursery web spider, but I don't know if we get them here anyway.

@Hanglow hanging on well and nice stripey legs.

I don't see many spiders at the moment, inside or out, but there are plenty of cobwebs.

Another long legged one from last month.

I was only thinking a few days ago that the usual crop of seasonal spiders are not around as much as usual.
Last year there were lots of them building webs over night, but much less this year.

Of course there is still time as they normally dont really show until autumn starts.

Giant House Spider, found when I opened up a drawer to find dustbin bags.

                  He's big, with hairy legs!!

Thank you for the correction. It makes sense, hiding away, preparing to give birth.

                            I think it's a boy.

                            Firstly, girls shave their legs.

Secondly, the males have their sex organs on the ends of their eye balls - actually their palps.

But I'm not an expert on spiders as I cannot be in the same room. How did you remove it?
