I was being generous! We've been in this house for 52 years and the leak has never been fixed properly. I think it didn't leak for at least two weeks one time. :rolleyespink:

I have achieved absolutely nothing today. Fed up with myself for frittering it away. I blame the weather. Just can't be bothered to get started on anything while it's this gloomy. :dunno:

I find it difficult to get motivated when the weather is poor, but once I get out there its surprising what I find to do, been cutting back a biggish tree that is starving some plants of light, I thought I'd do it now while its still in leaf as you can get a better picture of what needs to come off.
Likewise, I take the dog for a walk and think I wont go too far this morning, before I know it I've been gone ages.
Often its just making that first step.

What ... you mean I need to arise from my supine position on the sofa? :thud:

I did have a short walk this morning, but what with the drizzle and the wind driving it at me, it wasn't deeply enjoyable. Hey ho! There's always tomorrow.

I am reading a very depressing, stream-of-consciousness library book about a man on a train journey with the intention of committing suicide, which isn't lifting my spirits, TBH. I think I will race through the rest to get it over with - the book that is, not the man's life, as I'm fairly certain fate will intervene - and move onto something more cheerful. Serial killings or war, maybe. ;)

Yes drizzle and subzero winds are my two biggest hates regarding going out doing things.
                I see your point.

I never read books so I miss out on that kind of depression.

I dunno why I put myself through it!

Actually, it is very well written, just a bit intense for my current frame of mind.

Just finished it. Happy ending ... or maybe, more accurately, a hopeful one. :blue thumb:

Well! Famous last words time. :rolleyespink: I said there were no workers down there but that has now changed and there are at least half a dozen vehicles of all types and the road is impassable as there is a geyser shooting at least three foot in the air :yikes:. The road is flooded and the road surface is washing away.

Maybe they will finally fix the leak :fingers crossed:

This is turning into a saga. Can’t wait for the next thrilling instalment. Do I sense a best seller being penned or even a film?

                          Already working on it. :heehee:

                          I've just posted this elsewhere:-

There is chaos at the bottom of our road as the 40+ year old leaking water main finally gave up the ghost yesterday and we have a 3ft high geyser closing the road where four roads meet just by the station. That's almost two miles away down our road and by late last night they still hadn't bothered to put 'road closed' signs on the approach roads.

I expect commuters won't be too happy this morning. The ones coming from our way will do the two miles down there, struggle to turn round, drive the two miles back and then try to find out how to get round the problem. The shortest route, if they know it, is about six miles once they get back to our end of the road.

It will be fun and games when they finally get around to putting up diversion signs as there are already two other sets of diversion signs in the village due to road works elsewhere. None of them say which diversion they refer to. :roflol:

As one of my friends always says (used to be a road engineer) the highways department usually start each day playing hunt the brain cell!
