I see the foliage on your Sedum/Hylotelephium looks the same as all of mine @NigelJ !

Not a plant, but some lovely mist laden webs yesterday. I love this time of year when we get those, especially when hedges are covered in them. Saw lots of those when out my walk

This year my Rowan is laden with so many berries that the birds can’t eat them fast enough. Unusually there’ve been a few jackdaws visiting, they’ve got terrible table manners :).

@Plantminded this morning when I was volunteering in Pembrey Woods (chopping back brambles) we noticed and remarked on a rowan so covered in berries that its branches looked like a weeping form! This year seems to have been to their liking.

That's fine @noisette47 - around here is pretty acidic. But we need to know what it is - I'm intrigued!

I think all the rain has helped @CarolineL. My neighbour has one laden on the other side of the hedge so there’s a greater supply than demand here :).

They do like water, the ones I have rarely do well.
I think there is a misconception that because certain plants come from certain countries regarding the conditions they require especially such varied places like South Africa.

Over the years it's become clear that bulbous, rhizomatous and tuberous plants do best in the conditions here. Although the soil's sodden for a good part of the year, and soon dries to concrete for 3 or 4 months, things like Amaryllis, Dierama, Canna, Iris, Hedychium all thrive. It's the plants with fine, fragile roots that suffer. Logical, I suppose, as the former have reserves in their, um, organs

The native rowans here are all very heavily laden - we had a longer growing season here which helped, and they were earlier than usual in getting their berries too. The cheeky blackbird that's been in this year had all of them off the one at the back of my garden ages ago. He must have just fancied a change of diet! Hundreds of rowans and other berrying shrubs/hedges/trees around us for all the birds, so they'll be well fed. The named varieties are all just at the usual stage, and colouring nicely. The white one I have is now creamy lemon, and will get whiter as time goes on
I tarted up this pot yesterday, and tidied the little primulas in it while I was at it. The cyclamen that are in there too have died back now.
