Here still. In a local pub on the Cabots Trail, we heard an amazing fiddler. I did video tape him, but found him also on You tube to share with you all. We stayed in Chiticamp (spelling) which is on the West side of Cabots trail if you look at the map, then we did drive the whole trail, stopping at some awesome places, of mother natures delights, water falls, and beautiful rock and ocean formations. Beautiful green hills. So here is the fiddler-----https://youtu.be/BldMMR0z1Ac?si=ZbKTCKTozXbuYIOh

Good afternoon everyone. Had a good sleep last night. No duvet yet, just the cover and a thin, decorative quilt plus 2 pussies in the night, snuggled up for warmth. Set to go down to 6C early Friday morning so might have to think about swapping the quilt for the summer duvet.

Good session at physio this morning then a visit to a gardening friend to pick up a photos board for our display on Saturday. She's downsized to a very small garden but it is packed with plants and she goes for foliage interest and seeks out trees, shrubs and perennials with coloured/speckled/variegated/twisted/curly/oddly shaped leaves.

DIY this pm. Sanding to do on my chest of drawers revamp and I have other bits to paint and a Venetian glass mirror to repair.

      Your trip sounds fab @redstar.

@Liriodendron I think they look like packaging security too. Hope the camera warming works. Must get mine out and placed again. OH has managed to lose the recharging wire so it has to use ordinary batteries now. We'll see.

Pity about you NDN @Busy-Lizzie. Will the family be selling the house or renting it? Hope you get good new NDNs.

I suspect OH is going down the sleep apnea tho he's having none of it. However, he does wake up a few times and when I wake up I can hear him stop breathing then gasping it in - when he isn't just plain snoring, that is.

Hope you've had a better night @Tui34 and can get a shower soon. That will make you feel so much better.

Hello all, nice in the sun but the wind is chilly and gusty. I also have put a duvet on the bed now.
@Tui34 have you got a water proof dressing on the wound? If so you could try wrapping cling film round your leg over the dressing then sit on a shower stool and use the hand spray to do a body wash, i did this and the nurse was very impressed!!
Just finishing a cup of ginger and lemon tisane and then go and pick tomatoes before it rains.

Thanks for the "secure packaging" suggestions, @Tidemark and @Obelix-Vendée . Certainly a possibility... not found near a bin of any sort, but near the part of the roof which the magpies like to sit on.

Our daughter's MA was in animation, and now she's shown us how the little "creatures" can be made to smile, I'm not sure we'll be able to throw them away... :heehee:

Whenever anyone posts a YouTube I can see it but I can't hear it, so I can't hear @redstar's fiddler. Does anyone know why? It happened on the GW site too.

Back from NDN's funeral. I think she would have liked her service, Dusty Springfield's "You don't have to say you love me" and Frank Sinatra "My Way" and we sang "All Things Bright And Beautiful". She was buried under some trees in the corner of the graveyard, she would have approved, she loved trees.
We all went to the pretty thatched village pub afterwards. I met 2 previous owners of our cottage. NDN had been next door for a long time.

@Busy-Lizzie that's often because it needs to be open in YouTube rather than via another site. So if you open it, click on the little YouTube symbol and it should open in YT itself. If that doesn't work you may have to go one step further and choose to open it in the YT app. Try it and see (I'm on the bus at the moment so don't want to switch the sound on to test it!)

Good to hear from @redstar - glad it's all going so well!
It *is* cold at the moment isn't it? The sun is still v hot though, when it appears. Today's volunteer gardening was alternately very blowy, heavy rain, hot sun, overcast and cold! Slightly dreading our open air theatre trip tomorrow...
Fingers crossed the full drying out works on the camera, @Liriodendron .

Cold and windy here, but the sun did come out. Couldn’t go to choir this morning as I woke up snuffling this morning. However, after breakfast, I decided I felt well enough to get some fresh air, so went out for an hours walk. We still have our summer duvet on, but I woke for long enough in the night to be aware of OH pulling the extra blanket onto the bed.
Hope the sleep apnoea equipment helps, once you can get it working, @RowlandsCastle.
Early days on the hip recovery, @Tui34, but it sounds like you are doing well. Often wonder how Punkdoc’s recovery went, hope he is doing ok.
I’ve only recently read the Green Gables novels, interesting to have visited the museum and surrounding area, @redstar.

@LG_ I agree it's chilly. I am still in my 3/4 length trews, refusing to go into jeans till October, at least. I may submit tomorrow.
I'm meeting an 'old' (well, we are!) schoolfriend on the Wirral tomorrow for a 'small plates' lunch. Bit of a trek, but she says she can't drive to Wales, so I must go to the Wirral!
I, too, suspect hub is a sleep apnoea candidate. Good luck @RowlandsCastle
We have single duvets on the bed, as we rarely agree on the same tog. I frequently wake in the night to a duvet 'sausage' in the middle of the bed, where he has kicked it off and is sleeping under a fleece blanket.
Sleep is a tricky thing, as you get older, isn't it?
                      Love @redstar's travel blog.

Hello all. Well what a day it has been here. Persistent rain with an odd break or two in the downpour plus there was a hailstorm about an hour ago. I nipped into the village first thing as I needed to pick up a prescription from the pharmacy. I also did a wee bit of shopping in A**i. As I arrived home the serious rain started and I ended up soaked through just going from my car to the front door. I had to have a complete clothes change. I did manage to pot up some phlox plugs - in the shelter of the garage and then there was a break so I decided to trim the ivy on my front wall. Its green bin day tomorrow and I wanted to get rid of the trimmings. Just as I finished a particularly heavy burst of rain came down and I ended up soaked through to the skin again! The joys of gardening!
@Obelix-Vendée, did Possum finish her chest of drawers?
@Busy-Lizzy, your NDN's funeral service sounds perfect and a fitting place for her to be laid to rest. Regarding the sound issue, have you got the YouTube App downloaded to your phone? I'm not sure if that will make a difference but you could try it.
I can feel the temperature dropping already. It was only 14°C in my house this morning and it is now the dizzy height of 17°C I guess with moving about and gardening - on and off - I have felt quite warm but now I will be giving in and putting the heating on for a boost to take the chill off the house.
I, too, am looking forward to seeing @redstar's pictures of her trip. It is sounding very interesting.

I hope that drying out your camera does the trick @Liriodendron. I expect that the hedgehogs will be starting to think about hibernation soon.
I am signing out for today - maybe I'll think about hibernation  Enjoy your evenings whatever you have planned. Sleep well @Tui34

Good morning everyone. You made my morning @Penny_Forthem, with that wonderful picture. Thank you for sharing it with us. The rain is running down the windows again. My Bestie is at the Dentist's today so I am not visiting her as usual. She is very nervous about these appointments and today is a follow on from one she had last Monday.
I've noticed over the last few days that my hardy Autumn flowering cyclamen are looking rather beautiful. The 'f' word has been mentioned on the weather forecast again this morning! Brrrrr!
