Meant to say - hope the wellies dry out @cactus_girl - d'oh!
I hate wellies, due to having to wear them for many years in my work, so I avoid them now. The pair I had now hold the canes/sticks for plant supports, in the shed.

I always have fleeces for inside the house rather than putting heating on, until it gets properley cold. I have a really good one I got a couple of years ago. Fleecy blankets too, if I'm sitting.

I bought one of M&S thermal long sleeved tops last year to wear under our choir t-shirt. I makes me feel like the kid in the old readybrek advert, walking around with a warm glow.

Definitely chilly here this morning, bright sunshine at the moment but it’s also raining :rolleyespink:

9c sunny, no excuse a list of jobs to do out our front garden . First split a lot of London Pride it’s taking over. Just to take the chill off a throw on my lap does the job until the heating is put on and we have a hand warmer each which we were given recently from my OH brother who is more or less housebound , marvellous gadget!

I got my sister one of those for Xmas, as she had a holiday in Norway booked, involving snow-biking and other outdoor activities in temps well below zero with added wind chill. :blue thumb:

No thermals or string vests here yet. There is a chill in the air but I'm resisting acknowledging it, shorts and t shirts still. The only concession is to put on the heated towel rail as towels weren't drying.

There was 7mm of rain yesterday mostly from the thunderstorm mid afternoon, seemed to be directly overhead.

This says it all, a low of 2c coming up

Snow on the hills, might go for a look later, not going skiing though lol. 3.7 in the greenhouse last nigh, but bright with a bit of sun/cloud and 11 degrees now.

Yes, the wellies soon dried out. I did notice purple marks inside - from blackberries dropping inside. I find wellies the most comfortable form of footwear especially with wooly socks.

I wore my gilet indoors in the afternoon as I was quite chilled.

@JWK when we put our water on the radiator in the bathroom heats up - good old fashioned CH here (it's 40 years old).

Today is cool max 13c and showers, but it feels so much warmer and brighter than yesterday.

No need to water now so that saves time.

I was out there cutting down a holly bush, god I hate holly, seemed kind of settled and was feeling warmer.
Sat down to have a beer and the next minute hailstone and the sun still out.

Everywhere is soaking wet now so given up for the day.

Twenty minutes ago hubby went off for a walk into town to look for some cake. The sun was shining. He’ll be just about due to be leaving the shop now and it’s hailing/bucketing down.

                        No umbrella.

He won’t be a happy bunny when he gets home.
