I sincerely hope that when my time comes, I will be treated with the same compassion as a treasured pet. Less grief for all concerned.

I don't want to be kept alive, strapped to a machine that's simply keeping you breathing, for months/years. That isn't living, it's existing by virtue of machinery, and when they switch that off, it's not a pleasant release either. My children know how I feel, so I hope by the time it comes, this nonsense will have been sorted out properly.
If people are of sound mind, it shouldn't matter that you don't have a terminal illness. If you want to go , you should be allowed to do it unedr your own terms. It's also worse for family, because you're just hanging on indefinitely, and they can't grieve and get on with their own lives either.
The drama 'Mayflies' summed it up beautifully IMO.

To a large degree, I agree with you - having nursed relatives in their final days, it is extremely difficult on all concerned and ultimately, for one in particular, it was very painful also... if the same standards that we apply to our pets were applied to humans in that case in particular, it would have been kinder all round in my opinion. My worry, however, is that it is yet another money-making scheme that is wide open to abuse. All of these schemes are created with the very best of intentions, and then greed gets involved.

Yes - but they don't do lots of info about him @pete, other than the odd report now and then to say he's doing ok. Limbo though.
Difficult to keep your privacy in those circumstances when he's so famous. A horrible thing to have happened, regardless of how anyone feels about the man.

The intermingling of the profit motive with medical care has not worked out well for either the health or wealth of tax-payers. And it will only get worse now pandemics have been proven to be such good money spinners for Big Pharma and its pals.

Went shopping and included in that were mushrooms. Two packs, same labelling, 200gm for £1.15 or 400gm for £1.19.

Hmmm! Which should I buy?

Since when have two doctors agreed on a diagnosis or treatment.

I suppose it can also depend on how mush-room I have in my fridge.

Of course there's another way of handling things. I could buy all the 400gm stock and sell them loose at 75p for 200gm and advertised as 35% discount on the store's price. :ideaIPB:

                    On the other hand.....

Mushrooms in the fridge? :thud: Paper bag in dark cool cupboard is their preference.

I think in terminal cases they probably can.
If they can't then one of them has no right being a doctor.

I think mushrooms should be left alone, to me it's one of those things that someone must have been totally starving to even think that piece of white rubber might be edible in the first place.
