      Good Morning!
My Dahlias I grew from seed this year have started to flower - anyone able to identify them?

Hi @silexa if they're from seed they can't be identified because they are not a "named" variety. For example every "David Howard" dahlia came from one plant that was selected and then cuttings repeatedly taken from it. Yours are "Silexa's Specials" !

Yes - the seed mixes are just that @silexa - mixes, and mainly the brighter colours.
A good idea naming them after yourself!

You can also keep any you particularly like in the same way as you would do with the named varieties though. Store any decent tubers over winter, and replant next year. If you're in a suitable area with the right conditions, you can leave them outside, with a mulch for protection. If not, just take them undercover when the timing's right, and store in the usual manner.

Bishop of Llandaff. Another slow starter that has spent the summer in the greenhouse.

Cafe de Paris. There’s more life in my dahlias now than there’s been all summer! BA4F699E-BDB6-41D3-974F-4893822AD381.jpeg

IMG_5199.jpeg IMG_5200.jpeg 1st one Bishops children grown from seed , 2nd one can’t remember it was overwintered in the greenhouse from last year. Just the 2 as here in Wales they would not survive the Winter in the ground .

Hi @Valleysgirl I'm in Carmarthenshire and keep forgetting to lift my dahlia (only 1!) - I think it's same as your second one. It has managed to come back last 3 years and is flowering well!

Just doodling remembered the dark Dahlia I pre-ordered from a specialist Dahlia supplier ( not meant to say I don’t think) BlackBerry Swirl collection, only one comeback out of a pack of 5 but it’s been giving me lots and lots of flowers for weeks so can’t complain .
