I'm in charge of the remote control in my house, as I'm the only one that ever watches tv anyway. There's stuff you couldn't pay me enough to watch, including most of the 'celebrity things'. That one is a prime example.
What annoys me even more about it is - the endless advertising of it on the radio, as though we all do religously watch it.

      :yikes:

Attentive readers amongst you may remember a rare event took place here yesterday. I washed the car. Now, having done so, I did not return the triple wax shampoo to its usual place at the back of the cupboard, but just popped it in at the front. Fast forward to this morning and I am putting a wash on. Powder added, softener added, drawer closed ... and I am just turning the programme dial when my nostrils inform my brain that something is not quite as normal.

Yup, you guessed it! I had poured in the car stuff by mistake! :thud: In my defence, the bottles are very similar and the liquid has the same colour and consistency. So, crisis averted ... nothing to worry about ... except I put the cream crackers away in the fridge yesterday! :dunno:

I wonder how towels rinsed in car shampoo would turn out! Hopefully, I will never know.

It'll probably be just as good @ViewAhead :heehee:
I've put washing on in the past without putting anything in at all - only discovering the little pot of powder later on. No one noticed...or complained....

The towels might go faster? ;)

You often hear people saying that turning off the machine is "playing God". No, putting someone ON the machine is "playing God".

I usually shop in Lidl on a Friday morning and they often have reduced mushrooms then, 60% off. So one of the giant family packs for less than £1. I slice up the ones I don't need immediately and freeze them. Then they can be used direct from the freezer for curries, chillis etc.

They usually have funny coloured hair too, pink hair dye doesn't grow on trees.

There will be constant "New Items" about it on the BBC news now until the end of the season. Always referred to as "Strictly".

I only watch our Scottish news @Escarpment, and on STV not BBC , so never see the national news. At least I can avoid that even if I do listen to BBC radio

Totally agree with you re the machines. I've always said that, just because we can keep people alive, it doesn't mean we should. Not all medical advances are 'good' IMO.

Un-flippin'-believable! :wallbanging: My washing load has just finished. Towels and navy items. No fragrance-de-carwash, luckily, but ... I had somehow managed to include a Kleenex!

                :nonofinger:

That's my domestic-chores patience quota exhausted for the day.

Done a bit of work on the outside wall which is about 8inchies off the road so i put something in the road and wear hi-vis!!!! Well, when a few cars came past i had to breath in a few times as some cars wouldn't slow down or even give me room, 1.5 metres for cycles and only 6 inchies for a human

I'll never understand this modern stuff ... I just typed a word in a reply to someone on a garden forum and it was underlined in red.
That's not unusual but the word was 'look' . Am I going daft or has that word now been erased from the English language ?

When I clicked on the underlined word to see if it had a new spelling I was given the word 'iBook' ... What on earth does that mean ? and why was I told it was the way I should have spelt 'look'

I think I'll just give up !

I find on this website (or is it my mobile?) that apostrophes are inserted where I don't want one and the spelling is altered to make a different word. I have to redo the word 3 times before it accepts my version.

Its your mobile, mine does similar, for some reason it thinks it know better than me what I'm writing.
Just one more reason I prefer my laptop.

There is probably a feature somewhere that can be turned off. After a nap I may have a look.
