Someone must have been listening - I had an email this morning informing me of my appts, for jags [flu and presumably a Covid one?] and a link on it for changing the appt. if necessary, which isn't until December. I don't think that happened last year - it was a letter, so maybe folk have commented/pushed it.

I was listening to the radio yesterday and they had an item about a chap who had been told to leave a restaurant because the staff said he was 'frightening customers and they'd complained' to the staff.
The poor man has a condition which results in tumours on his nerves, many of which are visible as they're on his face. He'd just been for treatment at the hospital, as he's also lost an eye and has a flap of skin stitched over it. He'd hardly even been at the restaurant any time because he had to take cash from a machine outside, and had then gone in to place an order, so how quickly had those other customers decided he was some kind of danger to them? There's even more to the story - mainly the fact that there's been no response to his complaint, or the complaint made by the police, who have recorded it as a hate crime. Rightly so.
How much lower can the human race sink?

Meanwhile, he didn't want to name the restaurant. He's an infinitely better member of the human race than those people who complained. Perhaps karma will deal with them at some point in the future.

What's wrong with donkey jackets or a Gannex mac? When did it become a fashion parade? What a hopeless bunch.

I haven't spent more than a couple of hundred pounds on clothes in the last ten years and possibly quite a bit less. Do you think I should offer to give Starmer lessons on clothes? :heehee:

Same here, I was wondering how a chap can spend £32000 on clothes.

But has he actually spent it on clothes? Do they receive cash or vouchers? The second tranch was recorded as private office.

@fairygirl, that is effectively mob rule ... and completely unacceptable. The ability to cancel people virtually bled into real life during Covid, with govs and the media egging on the vilification of anyone not adhering to the mantras, however nonsensical these were. This is how totalitarian regimes get established. We are on a very slippery slope and I see no way of halting the slide given the media has fully subscribed to the "anything we disagree with is disinformation" fallacy, meaning they are effectively propaganda machines.

I have one item of clothing purchased circa 1986. :) I don't wear it, but I like the pattern on the material, so have found it strangely hard to part with, which, as a minimalist, is very out of character.

Sorry to tell you this, but those who didn't vote are just as culpable as those who used a 'protest' vote or actually voted for Labour.

Politicians shouldn't be allowed to accept gifts, full stop. They are only ever given in the hope/expectation of gaining influence in one way or another.

It's more about what they declared to have received.
If Starmer receives £16k more than declared or declares them with a wrong purpose, a QC and former head of the CPS should know what this means, shouldn't he?

I'm moaning about two things this morning so far!

I've just upped it to four - so a slow start to the day for me :heehee:

                              1. Why haven't I been given some money because I can think of better things to buy with it than clothes or tickets to football or shows.

                              2. Either the person who drew up the graph above can't do the job properly or the highlighted items listed are only part of the donations given. e.g. item 4 says it is for donations to Starmer and Rayner for 150k whereas the graph shows it as about 330k. So it is either wrong or it is made to look worse without naming the other recipients.

                              3. The link 'Source' above won't let me read it unless I open an account with them :nonofinger:

                              4. Why am I moaning about this as I don't give a monkeys? :loll: (It'll soon be light enough for me to get out in the garden :blue thumb:)

@shiney , sorry for not explaining it enough:
In 2020, Labour received donations from that Lord Alli of £330k of which £150k were for Starmer and Rayner. The remaining £3k went to other Labour MPs.

                                Enjoy your garden :blue thumb:
