Good morning all. Sorry to read that your boiler is acting up @Busy-Lizzie. This is not what you would want to happen as we approach Winter. I hope it is a simple job to get it fixed. Its annoying when these things occur at the weekend! Thank you for the lovely pic. I'll head to the others now.

Two weeks into the new Strictly series and I am stunned at the talents shown already by all the participants. Really enjoyed last night and I'm just glad I don't have to vote. One tiny thing that annoyed me was the arguing and talking above one another of the judges. Aside from that I am loving everything.

Fabulous picture @Tui34! It is also Michaelmas. A lot of things to be celebrated. My car is 1 year old today - well at least it is one year since I picked it up!

            Morning all.

The boiler starts up but doesn't light. I think there is an oil blockage. I've put on a couple of electric heaters and OH has lit the wood burner.

I enjoyed Strictly but I wish they would keep to classical music and costumes for the ballroom dances. I must be a stick in the mud, I don't like a lot of the modern music, maybe they've run out of nice tunes! It just seems noisy.

Morning everybody, been a bit awol lately, including a celebration stay by the seaside last weekend and a not so quick trip up to Redditch on Friday to collect OH's new car. We now have matching blue ones. Not quite sure why he wanted another one but there you go.

It doesn't look very nice out there and apparently we are forecast more rain and very high winds so might skip the weeding I was going to do. I am pleased that one box of apples has been taken so OH has put out another lot. I can't face dealing with them all this year, it's been a good crop.

So pleased you enjoyed the Malvern Show @Busy-Lizzie, I was thinking of you yesterday. I usually go with a friend on an organised coach trip but we didn't get our act together in time this year. I much prefer the Spring show anyway so must remember to book for that in good time. Do hope your boiler comes back on soon.

Hope @Goldenlily26 is ok, she's not posted much lately?

Glad you're more active now @Tui34, you will probably sleep much better when your six weeks is up.

Right, I need to change the beds and put yet more washing on, then hopefully get out there and do some weeding.

              Have a good day folks.

Hello everyone. Supposed to be cloudy but dry today but it's started raining. never mind, I managed some more sanding before the midday noise curfew and have plenty to do indoors. I did want to strip the bed but there are two pussycats asleep on it so that can wait.

How frustrating @Busy-Lizzie. I hope it can be fixed soon. Ours was serviced recently but isn't needed yet. It only does radiators now as the hot water is leccy. Unfortunately, one of our solar panels isn't funcioning properly and the company that installed them has gone bust so we need to find a new doctor. The only one to call so far wants to replace the entire lot. I don't think so.

I shall comment on Strictly on that thread but yes, @Ladybird4, some excellent performances and yes @Busy-Lizzie some dreadful music choices.

Good that your apples are being taken @lizzie27. I shall be giving potatoes away to neighbours soon. OH's idea to plant so many, tho, to be fair, they have given a good crop compared to other veggies this year.

I'm off to have a thorough shower and hair wash and then make a chocolate courgette cake for tomorrow and then do some sewing.

                  Stay warm and dry everyone.

                    Afternoon all.

Back from my wellbeing and craft session. We made/decorated a book to use as a journal. The journal idea is not so much a traditional diary, but a place to write, draw or scrapbook thoughts on what you are grateful for, things that have brought joy, reflections etc. Maybe a bit of hippie mindfulness, but there always room for noticing the little things in life consider doing more of what we love.

The weather is coming in now, as they say. Glad I took down the hanging baskets!

                    Have a super Sunday folks.

I have made another batch of crab apple jelly (yes @Badly_Maintained, I used my new thermometer!). I also bought more appropriate size jars, so some will go as gifts.
I've booked to go to see the Nutcracker in Liverpool in January with hub. Also booked a night in the Radisson. Get me!!
Did anyone watch Ludwig on BBC 1 last week? We started it, thinking it was going to be awful and surprised ourselves by thoroughly enjoying it!
I really like that idea, @AuntyRach.

Yes to Ludwig! Something a bit different. I love those logic puzzle grids so (without spoilers) that part appealed to me! The two lead actors are great.

I've spent a lot of the day in the sitting room where the woodburner is. It's the only warm room. I feel very tired today. OH has been more active than me, he's done some outdoor jobs like putting up wires for my new climbing rose and clematis and getting logs in.

Thank goodness we have the option to heat water with electricity.

Well I'm not surprised you are feeling tired @Busy-Lizzie as you have been scooting about on your mini break. I am signing out for this evening. I'm interested to see who has been voted off in Strictly. Enjoy your evenings and I'll see you tomorrow.

It’s Sunday night routine with a difference here as no work tomorrow! First roast dinner of the season here too - I was craving some roast parsnips!
