@noisette47 I used to grow lots of eucalyptus in Nottinghamshire - as a member of Australasian plant society I have access to lots of seed. But they seem to be less happy here. I might try perriniana again - it's reasonably tolerant of damp. Any other suggestions of good ones?

 

The only two I've succeeded with are gunnii and neglecta. Given the epithet, the latter should be rock solid

It’s an Acer japonicum @Victoria which was here when I moved in eleven years ago, in poor shape. Over the years I have raised the canopy and removed quite a few branches to create a more open tree. It gives a lot of interest in that area and good shade on a rare hot day .

It is certainly very attractive and I love the shape with canopy.

 

Could it be a scented-leaf pelargonium, Michael?

 

It looks pelargonium-ish but it has no scent.
