If the report that K Starmer cannot afford to pay back the £16 K is true, then surely he should not have put himself up for PM if he knew that his salary would be insfficient for his needs. Hardly rocket science is it ?

Sadly she's just moving to another job with Labour. Probably earning more by doing so.

It's the old story. Once you get into the upper echelons you don't get sacked you just get moved to another cushy job.

She is now "prime minister’s envoy for the regions and nations" and is still being paid for doing that. Seems to have something to do with councils?

I wonder if that Lord Alli and the cabinet have a kind of reclaim contract in case his investment doesn't pay off and Labour is out of business. To me it looks like the cabinet tried to grab what they can before we find out that they can't deliver.

Sounds like a "job for the boys", or girls in this case.

Sounds like something from a 1970s job creation scheme.

Well the 1970s was when the Unions had their greatest power, so that would seem entirely appropriate as we now have a country run by them again.

It does feel like we are returning to the 70s, the 3 day week would fit in really well these days, we are heading in that direction.

Working from home is better for many than the 3 day week. Wages were lost during the 3 day week. Now they can sit at home doing the bare minimum and still get their full wage.
I'm not saying everybody working from home take the urine, but I'm damn sure many do.

There defiantly seems to have been a change in attitudes since covid 4 yrs ago, I see the advantage regarding commuters who have to travel miles every day just to sit in front of a computer screen, its not something I would have ever wanted to do.

But the shift to wanting to only want to work four days and the fact its supposed to be more productive is not something that's going to work for anyone other than the ones who are now working from home.

Where I work we have people who come into work and then spend all day in Teams meeting with colleagues often in the same building, because they cannot find a free meeting room. Often they are peripherally involved so they are busy on their phones arranging holidays, kids' birthday parties, Christmas presents etc.

With climate change and all, I'd have thought any job that can be done from a screen at home should be. And people could also stop flying round the world for business meetings when these can be held perfectly well at distance.

I see you haven’t seen us working 10 to 12 hours in a row.
BTW, they install software that controls what and how often you work on your PC.
