    Hate it.

Cats don’t understand all the backwards and forwards stuff. They expect to get up at a fixed time, eat their meals at fixed times and go to bed at fixed times.

Tomorrow morning I shall have a set of claws poked into my skull at 5am. Breakfast please! I said BREAKFAST PLEASE!

It usually takes at least a month for them to get used to the new times.

Winter is bad enough without making it worse by altering the clocks.

My non-preference is an irrelevance to most people's ideas on it. As I'm up 21-22 hours a day it makes no difference to me - apart from when Mrs Shiney moans about losing an hour's sleep.

When I was in the merchant navy we had to change our clocks by one hour sometimes as often as every day for three days.

I agree re cats ... but it doesn't bother me, and T'other Half can sleep day or night at any time. He's having a nap now.

I'd prefer to be on GMT all yr. Early morning light suits me better than late evening light through the summer. A month or so before and after the longest day are tricky. I can't get to sleep with an eye mask in the evening, though I can put one on at 4 am and nod off quite happily again, strangely.

I tend to move my body clock by 15 mins over 4 days and that usually makes the autumn/spring changeover OK.

I don't much care (we all get used to it after a few days, even the cats) and during the height of summer and depths of winter it doesn't make a deal of difference to me. I'm rarely going to up before daybreak in summer or after daybreak in winter, and even if we didn't put the clocks back it would still be dark by teatime in midwinter. But I'd prefer to stay on BST for another month or so to get that last bit of early-evening daylight, and go forward earlier too. Or just stop the messing about and stay on BST all year round. Not looking forward to it being dark not much after 5pm on Sunday and getting earlier for the better part of two more months.

Unless you need to be somewhere at a certain time on a daily basis or you have an appointment, you can mostly ignore it. Get up when it's light and either turn lights on or go to bed when it's dark. There's still 24 hours in a day after all
Must admit I think the change is somewhat pointless but if I remember correctly, one of the reasons often given whenever there is a debate on the subject is "children walking to school in the dark".

I hate all the clock changing that has to be done. I have to get the manuals out every time for the cooker etc.
A former work colleague of mine, when we were gaining an hour, would wait until the afternoon of the following day before changing hers. Then she really appreciated the “extra hour”

I remember pulling an all-nighter at the end of an 85 hour week. The last day before the project was due to be collected by the courier, was a 33 hour stretch and we were over the moon the clocks changed, because it gave us an extra hour to finish the job!

I thought it had something to do with farmers and cows.

Am I right in thinking there was an experiment in the 1970s where the clocks didn't change, possibly it stayed BST ?
I seem to recall walking to school in the pitch dark around 8.30am. This was in Gloucestershire, so not "up North".
