Morning @Tui34. I decided yesterday to call my Millionaires Shortbread Miser's shortbread because what I thought was milk chocolate in my store cupboard turned out to be white chocolate!

        Good morning all.

I had a much better night than the night before.

I must finish trimming the box hedge. It took half an hour to find all the equipment yesterday. The cable was behind an armchair in the dining room! OH had put stuff in front of the hedge trimmer in the shed. One of my plastic sheets that I use to catch the trimmings has disappeared.

Then we'll do the weekly shop, not much this week. I have a £12 voucher from Sainsbugs but have to spend £90 for it. Don't think we'll spend half that.

Morning all, pleased to say I've finally got a GP appointment for 2 pm this afternoon to look at my hand. It was so jolly painful at 1 am I had to get up and take paracetamol but seems ok this morning - so far. My cleaners have had to cancel their visit today which doesn't really matter as I'd hastily had a quick clean round before my DIL arrived last night to stay. Lovely girl, she brought in a warm cooked chicken from Morrisons, plus salad and rice. Fresh fruit salad with yoghurt for afters so a very healthy meal.
Your lunch out sounds very moreish @Busy-Lizzie. An interesting combination with the mussels.
Wasn't Shetland smashing last night @Ladybird4, I love the theme tune as well.
Imaginative yarn bombers, RowlandsCastle's village must look very decorative. I must go and find my poppy.
          Have a good day everyone.

            Good morning,

Another grey day - it’s getting rather monotonous.

Just done my Pilates, but using the NHS app this week as the teacher is away this week. I have to say, I was impressed with it. I tried doing movements by myself, but really find listening to instructions and watching a teacher do the postures helpful.

Popping out to a local hall shortly, run by English Heritage - their gardens are beautiful to walk around. Will follow this with a spot of lunch. The Hall itself will be closed now, but the cafe will be open, and of course, the gardens.

Those knitted toppers are really lovely @RowlandsCastle.

I hope you get some help from your GP this afternoon @lizzie27.

Glad you had a better night @Busy-Lizzie.

Hello everyone. Busy night last night with Minstrel bringing in 3 mice! I needed a lie-in after that so we've only just finished lunch after going out to do the weekly shop. We start with a raid on LIDL for wine and they had the first of the NZ lamb legs in for 10€ a kilo as opposed to 25€ for local stuff. No contest despite liking to support local growers. Thence to Leclerc whith a much wider range of everything, including an After Eight Advent calendar for Possum. Horrid stuff IMHO but she loves them and we can only find them around Xmas.

it is cool and very grey and no sign of it lifting. Very dull really. Yoga this evening so I shall stay indoors and clean.

Love those photos @RowlandsCastle. I can feel my teeth dissolving at the thought of millionaire's shortbread @Ladybird4 and even more so done with white chocolate!

I hope your colds are fading @Busy-Lizzie and @Liriodendron. Same for anyone else with a lurgy.

Thanks for all your kind wishes. Still in a cast, although its removable for therapy and showers and just to give my skin air and massaging to decrease swelling, which is working. i will be getting a 2nd surgery sometime mid-December where they take out the long plate which goes from the back of the hand 6 inches up, the arm. i am only allowed to move fingers, my wrist does not move. after the plate is out then i can start wrist therapy. its going to take months.
would love to just sit in a tub. hard to put deodorant on right pit. forget bunning my hair up.
selecting only certain clothes to wear.

Anyway, i am top of the world thrilled Trump won.

Afternoon everyone. Great to hear you are doing okay @redstar - sounds like a long recovery process.

It’s grey and a bit chilly here so not very inspiring. It’s the time of year where we are struggling to adjust to the dark evenings and it’s not yet time for the festive distractions, so always a hard month I think.

I hope everyone is doing ok whether you are busy, busy doing nothing or nothing much happening.

Afternoon all. So pleased you got an appointment @lizzie27 and oh , Shetland was fantastic! Can't wait for next episode. Hope you had a wonderful walk @Blue arbour. Goodness @Obelix-Vendée, that lamb leg was a bargain price per Kg. Good to hear you are on the mend @redstar. Its been pretty dismal here for the last few days @AuntyRach so I can empathise with you.

We are chilling at the van. We have had a raid on Lidl, too, mainly for charcuterie and olives.
A slab of wild boar and cognac pate fell into the trolley, as did a couple of their salami, including my fave, Finocchiona.
Much to my disappointment, they had no celeriac.
Glad to hear that @redstar is making progress.
                      Love those toppers too.

My cold is better, getting a bit of energy back. I finished trimming the box hedge, there is a bit of caterpillar damage. Then I cut down some old perennials and raked leaves on the drive. The big bag of leaves for compost is almost full and the garden bin is full. It will be emptied tomorrow.

We did the weekly shop in T'sco and got over £10 off spending a lot less than the £90 that Sainsbugs wanted for the £12 voucher.

Are you really thrilled that Trump won @redstar? He's not very popular in Europe or the UK. I thought he was going to court for fraud and he's so full of himself.

Good to read you are over your cold @Busy-Lizzie. When will you make a start on planting your tulip bulbs? I got some new sweet pea seeds today - the same kind as the ones I grew this year which are still just about flowering - and I will be starting them under glass this weekend. They are so beautifully scented.

That’s a point, @Blue arbour. I must check when our green bin collections pause over Christmas.
                            Wonderful pictures, @Liriodendron.
Popped out to the garden centre after picking up our prescriptions this morning. Didn’t actually see much in the way of plants, as much of the indoor area has been given over to Christmas decorations. Some impressive, some garish, but interesting to walk round while it was quiet. Had a stroll through the clothing section, and found a half price waterproof Barbour jacket for OH. Very chuffed with that, just what he needed, and he actually liked it.
Too dismal to walk round the outside plant section. I want two plants for the pots each side of the garage door. Used to have two small conifers but one died, and the other has been getting out of shape. It can be replanted somewhere out of the way when I get a replacement.
Glad your wrist is recovering, albeit slowly, @redstar.
