Footwear ideas for gardeners with knee problems

@noisette47 OH's birthday in 2 weeks' time and he's asked for a compressor dooberry to blast away muck under our sit-on and his new brushcutter and no doubt he'll find other uses for his new toy. He doesn't have arthritic knees.

 

@kindredspirit Thank you , i will take a close look at those .i have a couple of Bulldog hoes , I have to say that my most versatile tool is the daisy grubber - a cheap one from Wilko - which i think i use every day when gardening but not always to grub daisies. You are in the West of Ireland - i was in County Mayo a few years back ( Castlebar) - THE friendliest people , i have never felt so welcome anywhere.

 

I'm experimenting with a combination of hosepipe (it's got nozzles either side of the deck for just that purpose) followed by blower to dry it off. It'll work while the ride on is new, shiny and gunge slides off easily, but it'll be back to the lift and grovel next spring

 

It's great when you have good views @Robert Bowen. I can walk round the corner and see across Glasgow to some of the Arrochar hills beyond, and to Glasgow's 'Beacon Hill' - Ben Lomond, when it's a clear day. In a previous house, just round the corner, we could see them from the upstairs windows.
Like you, I'm lucky that it's only a short trip - about an hour and a bit, to those hills. Glencoe is about 2 hours or so, and even the Cairngorms are about 3, depending on the hill, because there are more direct roads. West is always best though
