We've had gusty winds and a fair bit of rain, but nothing like the severe weather others are experiencing. Wind is forecast to drop for a few hours and then get up again over night.

It's been raining all day, sometimes heavy and sometimes light showers with a fresh breeze from the south south west temp 13c feels like 13c. at least it's not as cold.

Doesn't seem to have been as bad as feared so far. Haven't had much wind, and the buckets left out have collected about an inch of rain so far. The warmth feels really weird when you step outside.

Very rainy all day, not terribly windy. But the shocking thing is it’s been 14°C since breakfast time today and will be going right through tonight and into tomorrow afternoon. That is ridiculous!

The change in temperature and humidity has been so quick that the car in the garage is covered with condensation on the outside.

Over night temps will increase to 14c and further tomorrow to 15c. Still lots of rain to come. Wind not so bad.

Been raining on and off all day, but the wind has really picked up now, 53mph gusts, which was not expected by me, as we are probably the the part of the country furthest away from the centre of the depression, appears to be less in the north.
12 now. Been rising slowly all day.

If I hadn't cleared snow outside my drive during the week then I wouldn't have got my car in as it's on a slight slope. There's nowhere to park on the road either because of inconsiderate neighbours littering it with their vehicles - all who have drives. Even then it was a struggle with the car sliding.

There's still some snow about but today it's rained and the wind has blown. Quiet at the moment but returning tomorrow. 4C/39F

That's why you need to clear it in the morning before everyone goes to work. Easily done at 5 AM when snow has drizzled down over night.
Worse are those who leave snow as it is and hundreds compress it to ice inside a few hours.
We had that in Maidenhead in December 2009, when the temperature wasn't warm enough to melt the ice. The watery surface froze to ice again after sunset. The entire town was covered in ice for three weeks. Caused a huge outcry back than.
I complained to the council why they don't make it mandatory for residents to clear the parts in front of their houses. No life for 3 weeks, no going out to the essential shops for so many residents, so many broken legs, arms etc because people were too lazy or didn't think about clearing their part when snow had hit in the first and only ! night.

                          Good morning all.
I woke up from the storm outside see my entry at 1:35 during the night. Went to bed again at 3 and found sleep again.
It's still heavy storm outside. The noise makes me nervous. The wind is howling in the chimney.
15 c currently, not much rain but 57 mph wind.

Pitch black out there. Can’t see or hear a thing. I’ll have to go by what the Met Office says. Not quite as crazily warm as they predicted yesterday, but still nuts. The greenfly will be laughing.
