Exeter Christmas Market will be closed tomorrow, and no morning services in the cathedral either. I was hoping to go with my daughter to the Christmas fair in the Oxford Botanic Garden on Sunday, but that has had to cancel. Anything in a big tent is going to be dodgy in the high winds.
We haven’t made any preparations for possible power cuts. I suppose I’d better take the matches and some candles into the bedroom tonight. The ‘naughty’ drawer has enough goodies to keep us fed, and I can find the booze cupboard in the dark if need be! Extra fleecy blanket on top of the bed should keep us snug if the heat goes off.

Good morning all. We finally have calm and sunny morning. Heard that some of you have problems with weather, so hope it will soon pass and without damage. I'll start with lights outside, and first is hang them on linden tree. After that will be much easier. Done my Christmas shopping yesterday, and now have almost everything for holidays, including Christmas tree. Wish you all a nice day, and see you soon.

Good morning all. First of all I feel so sorry for you @Goldenlily26 and agree with all the comments about the lack of information from both the insurance company and the Vet. Pets are much loved members of the family and basically there is nothing we owners won't do to make our furry friends healthy and happy. The timing of such a huge bill is an extra strain on you and I hope you can stay positive through the distress this must be causing you.
Apologies for not getting on to say goodnight yesterday - the meal was delightful - but trying to organise my thoughts into the Christmas Fair preparation today with the weather now being as hideous as it is, is monopolising all my time. I will be glad when it is all over and life can return to normal on Monday.

                  Good morning all.

It rained again in the night, the garden is already very wet.

We are going to the C of E church Christmas Fair in a local village hall. I expect we'll have some mulled wine and mince pies.

Bestie and I were given more mulled wine from the Food Bank - a bottle each. Just a little thank you for our help through this year. So lovely because it was unexpected

Good morning from western Ireland. Winds are dying down here, and we've had no significant damage, and I'm hoping that the same will soon be true in the UK...

Good morning all, we're ok here with no damage outside as far as I can tell - still sitting in bed with a cuppa. The wind is still very strong so not going outside until later. Don't want to get blown off my feet. Hope others in Wales are also ok.

The Bath Christmas market has been cancelled which is a shame as DIL and Gdaughter were coming up to stay overnight. I'm waiting to hear what their plans are. Lots of other events have also been cancelled in the West country.

Good morning everyone, hope you are all OK through the storm. Very wet and windy here last night, it's easing now, no damage I think. We are on the edge of suburban London so wouldn't expect problems but you never know these days.
We were at Alexandra palace last eve, a show with Gareth
Malone, a sort of his music history, through popular songs. I didn't know that he is a reasonably accomplished guitar player, an so it was all to a live band. Lots of singing along, bit cheesy but good fun.

                            Good morning,

Very wet and grey here, but we don’t have any strong winds as yet.
We were going to put up the outdoor lights but it’s too wet at the moment, so that job will have to wait.

I’m pleased to read that many of you have escaped a severe dose of the storm and I hope it doesn’t cause significant damage to anyone anywhere. It’s such a shame that so many events had to be cancelled once more, though.

I had a lovely get together with friends yesterday for lunch. It was so good to have a catch up and in such pleasant surroundings with gorgeous food.

Keep warm, dry and safe, everyone.

Really wild out here in East Devon. Thank heavens the leaves are off the trees, lots of very tall trees round here, and the tops are swinging around like mad things. Two plants in pots on their sides. Otherwise all ok so far, but it’s obviously not over yet. Have heard chainsaws since early morning, so there must be some trees or branches down nearby. Not going out to look!
What a shame, @lizzie27, lots of events cancelled down here too.
Sad not to be seeing daughter, but I’m glad I took the decision last night. Some trains running, but big delays, and it’ll just need a tree on the line to turn the journey into a nightmare. OH is trying his best not to show that he is pleased he won’t be on his own for the weekend! And we have the goodies I’d stocked up for him, to look forward to!
We must have had a power cut in the night. The Christmas tree lights and the floor lamps were on when I got up, the automatic timers will have to be reset.
                              Hope all keeping safe.

Morning all. We are ok so far but the winds have been epic. Red warning officially stops at 11am. Sounds awful in some parts with power cuts and damage. Stay in and safe folks! Disappointing for those of us who have cancelled plans but the storm won’t last and we need to keep safe.

My click and collect SM was cancelled but I’ve rebooked for tomorrow.
