We had some stronger wind spells and I had to pick the food waste bin from number 3 from the road before it causes damage. I do wish that the remaining rest of people also learn to think ahead and bring these things inside before a storm hits.

We had the government warning- we’re in Pembrokeshire, just up the road from the sea. It’s extremely windy, has been for hours, with occasional showers. It’s so noisy that it’s been a wakeful night, so I plugged one ear in (the other ear squished into my pillow) and have been listening to a BorrowBox story. I think I should make sure our power packs are charged, though power cuts are less frequent since cables were replaced a few years ago. Stay safe everyone

It's very windy, I think a drain pipe has come loose on my house and it's been banging against the side wall since last night, in the wind ... getting on my nerves now [IMG]
          There's heavy rain too !
I am at the edge of the red warning area and after reading the weather warnings on line I have decided not to go to the art group Christmas dinner. It should really be cancelled - it's in Llandeilo (8 miles away on a rural road where there were floods in the last storm two weeks ago) and an antiques fair that was supposed to be there today has been cancelled.
I hope everyone is safe and not venturing out today.

Extremely windy and wet here in our part of North Wales. We didn't get the govt warning but then we don't have a smart phone only a dumb one. Awake since 4am, up at 5am, still not light so can't see what's what yet.

It's a bit rough but not as bad as I think it might get later I don't think the wind is at its strongest yet.
                  9c but feels cold.
Some brightness but I get the feeling rain is coming.

Wet and windy start here. O'night low of 2 degrees [3 just now at approx. 8.05am] with a predicted high of around 5 or 6 degrees. It's to gradually dry up but get windier through the day. Once it's light I'll check the rain gauge, but it looks quite high.
I hope no one has any serious damage - Wales weems to be getting the worst, along with all the west coast. I think we've had it raised to amber in some areas, but south of me. So far, it's not been any worse than any other rough, stormy spell we've had.

Yesterday was dry until mid afternoon when the rain started, but it wasn't heavier until later on. The high was 6 degrees, but knocked back with the winds.

That’s sensible of you. Aberglasney gardens, the Botanics and many others are closed today, with lots of events postponed. On Facebook Pembs council are detailing road problems with fallen trees/ debris etc.

I am just 'down the road' from these places, I'm not surprised they're closed today.

Hazy sun coming through and quite breezy, 14c going to 20c. Stay safe those with the storm heading your way.

We had some rain yesterday evening but not much (1.5mm). It was windy around bedtime (midnight or so) but not enough to keep me awake after that. Now it's still and damp/drizzly, but more rain is forecast this afternoon/evening and strong-ish winds (up to mid-50s mph, nothing like what the wet west is getting).
