Oh thankyou, @katecat58, I will have a look at their wares, they sound like a good manufacturer/brand.

They are very good @ClematisDbee and I have heard that a lot of Monty Don's pots are theirs. Unfortunately they charge a fortune for delivery (£29.50 I think) but they often have special offers with free delivery on certain pots. I think they have a Christmas offer at the moment. It is worth signing up for their emails.
When you get a delivery you understand why they charge so much - it's usually a very large, thick cardboard, box, filled with straw.
D'Arcy and Everest Alpines used to do some kits with a low bowl and plants, but they were also very expensive, and I'm not sure that they still do them.

I'd look around local garden centres, I'm pretty sure I've seen frost proof guaranteed stuff for sale.

Thankyou, @katecat58, I have had a look: they seem to be top quality. That is a good idea about signing up for any marketing lists etc, as I think I would only be ordering when they offer discounts on delivery. The Whichford website is like entering a magical kingdom from a previous couple of centuries. That Errington trough is beautiful and I really like the simplicity of the Littlethorpe.
Garden centres might have something without the hefty delivery price I - see what you mean, thankyou, @pete.

Where I live there are quite a few local craftsmen catering to the tourist trade in Pembrokeshire. You might find someone local willing to make you something out of season. Some years ago I saw those sun plaques (there's a mould they use) and was thinking about drilling a hole in the mouth to make a little trickle waterfall. The chap heard me and offered to modify one. So I got a sun with an open mouth to beautifully direct the flow!
Unfortunately I never made the waterfall, but the plaque has sat, unaffected by frost, for many years.

                Jasmin Planted2 6 Dec 24.jpg

I had a Jasmin Trachelospermum Tricolor arrive yesterday from Italy and planted it this morning. The supplier said a climber but on reading up on it i have seen climber and suitable for pots and hanging baskets. I have planted in in a trough with a trellis behind it.

Does anyone else have this variety and tell me about it (a picture would be nice  ). Thank you.

I have not seen Jasmin trachelospermum 'tricolour', @Victoria, I only have the usual version. I bet it will look lovely, cascading over your hanging basket/s. Variegated foliage can really dazzle in the sun, especially in that pinky -cream-white hue.

Oh sorry @Victoria , I mis-read! You planted it in a trough! Shall I go to Specsavers when this storm is over?!

Not exactly a purchase, but will lead to purchases; the Chiltern Seeds catalogue has arrived the earliest I've had it for many a year.

It says it is slow growing so I shall have to wait and see.

Hope you stay safe from the storm.
