Ventured into the greenhouse to assess the damage. The structure has survived but inside is devastation! Nearly everything on the floor and in a right sorry state! But ....it's only "stuff":phew:

Just had a walk round the village, the north wind is both very strong and cold, but the forecast is a few days of high pressure and calmer if somewhat colder weather.

We are up to 14c and sunny but it feels very chilly still with the gusty winds. Apparently we are getting some of the effects of Storm Darragh. but worse up North, and we will have a cold week, followed by showers.

Sorry I should have explained better - it's a walk-in with a reinforced plastic cover which was wildly flapping about in the wind. The whole structure is undamaged but about 50 of the plants/cuttings/seedlings inside have ended up on the floor and most are unsaveable.

It was worse here overnight and continues this morning, sounded like a train whoosing by. We are high up and exposed on the North Downs and can still feel the cold wind ripping through the house. I haven't ventured out yet but will do soon as both wheelie bins are over and stuff is blowing about. A neighbour's tree has come down across the road and as we are a cul de sac their houses beyond were cut off

Goodness John. If that is your car, I hope it did not get damage. Stay safe.

The storm is over and it's very quiet. Gentle breeze. Temp is 6c, but feels like 2c. Cold, wet and miserable.

Next bit of sun is forecast for the 17th!

I can still hear a few gusts of wind but the storm has passed otherwise. Chilly but dry next week.

A little sunshine this morning but most of the day has been grey and calm. 7C/45F

Still a stiff NE wind blowing and it looks like it's rained on and off all night. 10mm.
Forecast is for heavy showers all day and tonight.
                          6c.
