The Twig is just forming flower buds. Twig II (one of the cuttings from last year) is flowering and as it has a nice, straight stem will probably replace the Twig, whose roots suffered badly last winter. The other two are growing well, branching out but no flower buds.

Still going for the world record for the biggest plant you can grow in the smallest pot, but it might be working, just showing signs of a flower stems forming.
I've just kept giving it high potash feed and refusing to repot.

That is amazing Pete. How old is it? I don't think mine will bloom this year now. Is there room for you in your Conservatory nqw?

It is a bit cramped and not as light as it used to be since the roof replacement.

Its one of two unrooted cuttings I bought two years ago, for some reason this one is more vigorous than the other cutting or the ones I grew from seed at the same time.
Even the stem has developed thicker.

I asked the seller about the cuttings and she told me they were from unflowered seedlings so not much to go on regarding flowering potential.

If we go back to the first post of this thread, I got mine in April last year from Madeira and was told it was three years old then and mine is a fraction of the size. I am disappointed as I see on the exotic Portugal forum many here are blooming. :cry3:

I dont think getting them to flower is straight forward, but I do think that the plants possibly have a juvenile stage, maybe similar in the way to how brugs are.
                  I could be wrong:biggrin:

But I get the impression they come from tropical areas that have a dry season and grow in poor soil.
I found the ones I dried off and allowed to drop leaves last winter took ages to get moving in the spring, my problem is lack of bright sunshine and heat year round, not seen the sun for days here now.

I'm going on the assumption of not being over generous with the potting and feeding instead, when I have repotted I've found the rootball to be fairly small.

Is it still out there now?
I suspect we really expect too much bearing in mind they are actually a fairly large tree.

Although yours is getting more light mine may be getting more warmth for the time of year, it rarely goes below 16c overnight and always 20c+ during the day.

I had one I grew from seed in my just frost free greenhouse section. Because it was cool, I used to dry it off for winter. It did flower when smaller than yours @pete, but was boring and unscented - so I threw it out.
