This season was the best in several years, and the wind and rain did not take the leaves down too soon.

Yes - that's often the problem here @hydrogardener - the rough weather spoils the show!

Poor things, I always worry about the wild animals in severe weather.

I took my camera out with me a few days ago, to get some pix of the frosty foliage everywhere

Every time I see frosted/frozen birches I think of James Taylor. There's a line in Sweet Baby James "though the Berkshires seemed dreamlike on account of that frostin' ", but when that album came out, there were no lyrics on the cover, or inside, so I always thought it was 'birches' he was saying. It wasn't until a few years later when my sis got the songbook for her guitar that we realised.

We are yet to see a proper frost yet this winter.
            Nice pictures.

Brrrr . something not seen here ... up North perhaps. I don't miss it but think it is pretty.

Last week we had a couple of sunny days, giving some good light shows on my afternoon walks.

All different aren't we? I'd much rather have frost and brisk weather than the rain and wind, which we get rather a lot of here. Fortunately, we do get a fair amount of frosts, so that makes up for it!
