Why does the BBC think two men staring at each other for 11 mins is news? Followed by the important information that a radio presenter has retired. :dunno:

You're out of date rather than out of touch. I was a Civil Servant for only about 7 years, but my pension was anything but gold plated. The pension I receive from one private sector employer where I worked for about 12 years is nearly 5 times my Civil Service one.
'First Division' CS pensions probably are Gold Plated, but not for the hoi polloi.

What's with all this Gavin and Stacy stuff.
I'm yet to meet anyone who has ever watched it.

@pete, I can only assume you've led a very sheltered life. It was one of the most popular programmes on TV from 2007. Maybe you're just too young to have been allowed to watch it.

You still watch the BBC? ;)

I think it is there way of trying to create interest in something that they know is tired and of little interest to anyone... TV channels seem to be devoid of talent and ideas.

Between 4-4.30pm had 4 parcels delived only problem is none were for me  there is now 3 parcels at my front door and they will stay there if they get wet TOUGH, 1 i got there in time to see the driver and tell him where to go

I hear there is a new craze where if you want to get rid of old/broken things, you repack into some old delivery box and leave them by your door and a thief will come and take it, but make sure you take any of your info off as it will then get dumped some where when thief finds out it's junk :lolpt::heehee::loll::dancy:

I dont think so, the trouble is that everyone in the Labour party has spent so much of their time slagging off Trump historically, they just dont have anyone suitable for that position.
Maybe Mandelson will be good a grovelling.

@pete we have never watched Gavin and Stacey either. Just the trailers are enough to make me want to turn off or over.

@Fat Controller we watch a lot of BBC, stemming from all the years in Belgium when cable Tv had to carry at least one channel from all the EU members so we got Beeb 1 & 2. When we got satellite we started recording films, documentaries and a few other programmes from other channels so we can FF thru all those ads.

The rule always was that if OH wanted to spend hours watching golf and cricket he had to iron. Now he has access to endless golf and other sports and even does sheets and duvet covers to prolong his viewing pleasure. Win win.

As for Peter Mandelson, as ambassador he'll have the use of the official residence for the British ambassador but will need to be on parade very early every day to process the Donald's early morning tweets. Inspired decision as it's a poisoned chalice for a career diplomat. I'm looking forward to seeing how Trump and co react to and work with, or not, the horrid little creep.

I have no printable words for the WFA, Waspi and Tulip decisions.

@Fat Controller I have always found it patronising when people who don't like the BBC for various reasons mock others for their choice like they need to be educated.

You are going to have help here as all I can see on WFA is Walking Football Association or Women's Football Association.
Waspi should be WASPI as it's an an abbreviation.
I presume the Tulip decision refer to the impending ban on importing tulip bulbs from the EU.

I didn’t. I was just unlucky enough to catch the opening “headlines” before exercising power over the remote. :)

Another who has never seen Gavin & Stacey … or Mrs Brown’s boys, which seems to be regarded as the pinnacle of Xmas entertainment for some reason.
