    I don't mind if GC members put apostrophes in the wrong place or spell things incorrectly but I do mind it when it is done by businesses, journalists and politicians - I'm sure there are other categories of people that should do so correctly (yes, just thought of one - students trying to put surveys on GC :heehee:).

      Book editors should know better too and what really gets my goat is British language films using the America "bring" when they mean "take" so that the other side of the pond will understand.

            @Philippa Bond - Skyfall is one such case. I noticed it when watching it the other day and it happens in British authored books on my Kindle.

              My editor was quite strict on grammar and punctuation and I worked hard not to get any correction marks on my drafts. It never quite worked out like that even when the grammar was correct as he always found some syntax that he could improve on.

                              Yes @pete you bring a bottle to a party but you take a food order from the take-away.

                              I've added a link above to explain the fault in "their's".

                              Edit: clearly not enough bottles for me!

                              One takes a bottle to a BYO party or restaurant! Once there, you brought the bottle.
