It does @pete because "Theirs the glory" is another way of saying "The glory is theirs". In some situations in English, verbs can be understood and not always expressed.

If FC's is anything like mine, too hot. For actual slow-cooking, the only setting that doesn't boil is the 'Keep warm' one...

I assume the heat, over time, has made the plastic brittle.

I've only got a small one of these with two settings low and high, it boils on high but only after about three hours.

The switch on my mum's slow cooker broke last year and I took it to bits and replaced it. They got it as a wedding present over 45 years a go and it works perfectly again now.

I think it dries, unlike blu-tac, but I may be wrong. I feel I need to buy some. It stores better in the fridge.

No. Blu Tac stays in a “fluid” state. Sugru begins as a malleable, soft putty but after a few minutes it sets into a solid, fixed, but still bendable shape. I have used it on lots of things that need a repair. Like a charging cable for my phone where a bit of the outer casing got sliced off and the inner plastic-covered coloured wires were visible. It was made much safer by the addition of a moulded bit of Sugru. There’s nothing exactly like it. It comes in different colours. Very expensive but cheaper than buying a new charging cable etc.

What ever your complaint, keep complaining to the police, insist on it being logged. You may never see any obvious result but eventually, if enough complaints are received they will take action. You have to insist you wish your complaint to be logged or they just listen sympathetically and then put the phone down.
In my local area a new resident moved into a caravan on a site near a village green. They had 10 dogs which have been allowed to run loose on roads, attack other dogs, kill pet cats and rabbits, get into people's houses via pet flaps etc, etc etc. Finally after a good few years of locals reporting the dogs activities, dog wardens, the RSPCA and police being deluged with complaints, non payment of fines, non tagging of dogs etc. the owner has finally been taken to court and fined £10,000. He is due back in court in the New Year when hopefully, because of cruelty, a life time ban to own any animals will be imposed. It has taken roughly 20 years to reach this point for various reasons but worth the wait.

Lack of proof reading on news sites annoys me. They seem more interested in getting the news out first than in making sure it's accurate. I saw one today, but can no longer find it, where the headline stated 500, which made no sense, but the body of the article referred to half a million!
Another thing that annoys me intensely is people in cafes/bars saying "Can I get....." If I was working there I would say "No you can't. I have to serve you". I'm sure it would leave the customer totally confused. More Americanisation of our language taking over!

Well, I've got the feeling the baseball cap directional placement started with older folks. Wearing peak up front, receding hairline. Peak to the back, crown baldness...

I proof read all of my posts. Right after I hit "post reply" and only then do I see that I had used my knuckles to type my message
