The frost hasn't lifted since yesterday, it's dull and grey again so the temperature won't rise much till the forecast rain comes. Minus 2.5 in the greenhouse over night,so must have been lower in the garden.

Bright clear skies, zero degrees and a light dusting of snow too, that'll stop the grass growing.......................................well for a bit, wish I could grow veg as well as I can grow grass lol.

It isn't as frosty as yesterday, and it's overcast, but it's still too cold for me :frown:

It is very bright and cool. 19f -6c It looks like we're going to get a sunny day however the guessers say that no, the clouds will be coming to give us more snow. What we have now is barely a dusting which is about 3 inches less than promised.

After basking in sunshine for the last couple of days it is overcast, breezy and chilly. It is raining in the wind but not freezing rain yet. Not sure when the next belt is due to arrive, think I will stay indoors and observe through my double glazed windows. We are supposed to be South of the worst of the weather so good luck to everyone further North for the week end. It looks formidable and of course, the country will grind to a halt as usual.

It is still brightly overcast with the sun grimacing occasionally through a brisk breeze and 16c. Haven't seen the hourly showers we were forecast since 9am, ho hum.

Yesterday started gloriously sunny here, but cold. Friend picked me up and we went over to visit friends in Macclesfield. Ran into low cloud/mist over the pennines and rain at Lyme Park where we had arranged to meet up. A bit finer this morning, headed back over the Cat & Fiddle road stopping for a late breakfast at the Peak View cafe (highly recommended!). There had been just a dusting of snow on the hills, enough to make it even more scenic than usual but not enough to make the roads difficult. Given the forecast we decided not to spend the day over that side, better to get home while it was fine.

The forecast for here is snow tonight turning to sleet and then rain tomorrow. It will be an indoors day taking down and packing away the Christmas decorations. We've just fetched the boxes down out of the loft.

Its been grim and murky all day here, but dry.
                    Very cold at only 2c.
Yesterday in the sunshine I didn't mind, today is just awful.

Ditto re above except we are about -2c….hellish in other words and not a blink of sunshine. Not helped by just returning from Edinburgh airport having dropped friends off for their flight to Lanzarote for 2 weeks, sure I turned a shade of green as they waved goodbye!

They keep saying that the whole country is under an amber warning for heavy snow. Then I look at the forecast for here and it shows no snow and becoming mild and up to 13C tomorrow.

We still have frost on the ground, but getting less frosty, with no hint of a breeze. There was a little sun this morning but dreary since then.

                          Who is THEY?
Met office says yellow warning for snow possible in the south during the night turning to rain.
                          Even not covering coastal areas.
Amber is further North and West.

I just checked our forecast and it has changed from yellow to amber starting at 6pm today.

I have moved rooted cuttings and smaller plants from the GH into the dining room. There are a lot of large scented geraniums and tender fuchsias left and cacti still there. Once it snows it acts like a warm blanket on the GH roof, but I have to check it's not too heavy. May have to broom it off.

                              It's very quiet outside.
