Whats Your Weather Like 2025

They're not the same as the bed ones, they are generally fluffy/fleecy material. You spread them over yourself rather than wrapping them around. I find them particularly good when it's just a bit chilly and you don't want to heat the house. If you get too hot you can just throw the blanket off, much easier than cooling the house down.

 

I just lifted this disc of ice from a bucket of rainwater.

 

Thick white hoar frost this morning, only just starting to melt in the sun at 10:30. Still finger-nipping cold.

 

Thick frost here with quite a thick fog. Looks very pretty (edited to add: what I can actually see which is the garden and very little beyond).

BBC says it’s -1, latest reading at local weather station (at Birmingham University so very much in the city) says -3. I say brrrrrr……..

 

We are still at minus 3, a bit of sun trying to peep through the clouds, not a breath of wind here. Our village is not on mains gas due to the hills(not on mains waste either, we have our own little treatment works), not quite off grid, but close to it.

 

I assume you have your own weather as well.

 

A bit misty with light winds from the east south east temp -2c feels like -2c

 

Cold again but a bit of sun has arrived, supposed to cloud over later.

Do I spy a fellow ‘frugal with the heating’ person @fairygirl?? We only heat a couple of key rooms over Winter and always go for layers and blankets first. Goodness knows what the heating bill would be like otherwise!

 

When I started the car, it said -4.5c. This is the coldest we had in the recent days since the cold started. The fog start a few miles down the road. Had to turn on the fog lights.
Just checked the garden: still frost.

 

Brilliant sunshine and 3c in the shade, but the frost is not moving in the shade on the ground.

Another cold one forecast for tonight before we go back to mud mud glorious mud.

 

Hi,

Our two roomed extension still has ice on the insides of the window in one of the rooms; the second room is my studio where the C/H radiator I leave at a setting of 2.5 for background heating; the violins and recording gear.

I feel cold just looking out; it's been like this all week and the street remains a scating rink; rock hard snow; I've just scattered building sand on our sloping pathway; this snow loves me; it's ever so friendly and enjoys my company.

We got to 18.5c this afternoon and the sun finally found us. Van went up into his tree house (the Jacaranda to hide in the fronds) and is still up there, sunny and 18.9c now.

 

The pictures don't really do it justice the sun was back lighting the hoare frost this morning.

 

It’s not as cold tonight! +2 rather than -2. Might take a layer off!

 

This morning brought brilliant sunshine to reflect off tge 4" of fluffy snow that dropped last night. And a big treat is that it is bang on 32f 0c. What a lovely day
