I already spotted the free P&P and put in an order. I went for some Liriope Muscari having seen them suggested on another thread on here - I'd never heard of them before, but they sound like just the thing for my garden conditions. Also some hardy geraniums, a grass (Seslaria Autumnalis) and some Mirabilis bulbs.

Just discovered there's some interesting stuff arrived in B&M lately too. It's weird though how they position their bulbs etc so that you only see them on your way out ...

Happy planting, @Escarpment. :dbgrtmb: So far, I have resisted. It is a lovely sunny day here and I fancy a little trip to the GC, but to get my car out, I will have to shift all my sheltering plants … just to put them back again afterwards as there is another frost forecast tonight, so I may be saved from temptation.

My son peed behind a park wall that came up to his chest walking home from the pub and police in a passing police car did him and he was fined.

There have been wildfires since trees and undergrowth first appeared. I'm not questioning that climate change has made things worse, but it isn't the only cause. Probably not even the main cause.

My Dad was in the RAF and we lived in Germany for 2 1/2 years in the late 1950s. It was commonplace to see men just standing at the side of the road and peeing in the gutter.

As a child, going to the seaside in Cornwall I remember being really excited to explore some caves. However we had to run straight back out again due to the stench. All the male visitors were using them as urinals.

What I have never understood is this, if women can hold on until a civilised opportunity arises to empty their bladders, why can’t men?

They can, but most of them think it's clever and macho to do it in public. Male toilets encourage it.
I can hold all day, and when I do go into a male toilet I go into a cubicle and LOCK THE DOOR ! I don't want to stand in the open and someone else peeing by my side thank you :frown:

And I have to tell you this - I was in a seaside town one day and saw a woman crouching on the pavement and peeing in full view, so it isn't only men. (i.e. SOME men) ... Beryl (late partner) was horrified, and so was I.

Anyone with prostate problems will tell you hanging on is not an option, but I agree most dont have that problem.

And any woman with interstitial cystitis will also have a problem but women with that condition don’t just help themselves to a bit of pavement.

My daughter lives in British Columbia, Canada and she says once the fires are out they can still be burning underground, although they can't be seen. They remain dormant until the following year's temperatures rise which cause them to reignite.

That might account for them popping up in lots of locations.
