I see that Spain are thinking of putting a 100% sales tax on anyone outside the EU buying property. I wonder that if they do that there may be some reciprocity from non EU countries and how much it will actually affect the housing problem.

Tenby raised council tax on 2nd homes and it had all sorts of unexpected results.
All I'm seeing is lots of countries pulling in behind closer borders and increasing xenophobia

With Spain the proposal is charging the full price of the sale as tax!

I thought it was on second homes, not if you want to move there?
        How would that be xenophobia?

All countries are becoming more inward looking , with nationalist governments. I fear it will end very badly.

Unless you have one of those systems where the local Documents/Desktop files are just a mirror of the OneDrive content and everything what you do on your system is OneDrive. A system that is in the Cloud.
This can be seen by looking at the URL. If it says C:\Users\YOURNAME\OneDrive\Documents, then it's one of those systems.

Don't delete anything @pete but test this first, open OneDrive and check first what happens if you move one of your local files to another location.

My computer regularly says that One Drive is not switched on and asks me to do it. I don't. :noidea:

Some countries already have rules about who can buy properties. Given the housing shortage, residents ought to come before holiday-makers, IMV. It would be better to have property ownership shared more equitably as it allows people to build up assets for later in life.

I’d go as far as not allowing off-shore companies and asset managers to purchase residential properties at all.

Not Spain specifically Pete, but there is a general pattern of countries increasingly not wanting migrants, refugees, people buying holiday homes etc; of bringing in ever tighter controls in border entry and complaints of paying tourists ruining their lives. The rejection of people from other countries, to me, is xenophobic in nature.
                  It's just my opinion :noidea:

I hit quit one drive last night and it went, disappeared, turn on this morning and its back telling me i'm running out of storage and need to pay them £1.99 a month for a basic package.
I've never used it or ever looked at it.:dunno:

It's one of those bundled softwares that are 'on' by default and probably has a free intro period. It might have been set to back everything up which would explain it being full.
Have a look at the programs that are loaded during start up and you should be able to switch it off

Yes I remember when I first used the laptop it said you get a certain amount of free space, but I didn't know it was automatically using it.

@CanadianLori Other than death and taxes there now seem to be two other certainties. 1. Trump will make more and more outrageous claims. 2. Those putting 'information' into the public domain will never let the truth get in the way of a good headline.
