I don't think I would be capable of holding myself under those circumstances - owners head would be getting pummelled into the cage door, or the floor.

Before long, the answer will be "The regulators on longer exist". The Chancellor has already sacked the head of one of the regulators basically because they didn't agree with relaxation of regulations in the financial sector.

Well, so we are told but again its a case of money for old rope, we are paying these morons through our taxes.
So we have a privatised company who is obviously out to make money, because that's what companies do, and we have a government funded body who are supposed to keep them in check, but dont.

Why would things be any different if the useless government run body was actually running the water company.

No government run things work, they are always over staffed and loaded with managers creating empires around themselves.
Not to mention if the Unions get involved as well.

The Utility companies are certainly a joke these days - huge salaries, bonuses and dividends paid out on a regular basis whilst the companies claim to be short of money to deal with improving the infrastructure - an issue which presumably they were aware of when they leaped in ?
I'm sure I have heard/read that some of these companies have already been fined millions ? Do they ever actually pay these fines ? If they do, and being "short of money" , how do they manage to find these amounts ( other than upping their prices of course ) and where does it end up ? Disappears into whichever govt is in power at the time to waste as they see fit?
I suppose that unlike many other places on the planet, we in the UK can at least rely on receiving continuous ( more or less ) power and water supply - not everyone is that lucky.

Sadly we need a WAR then when it is over if we win it, then the Gov and the people can start from scratch "Lessons will be learned"

Things are pretty grim for many folk around these parts atm. After the severe gales many people are without electricity for the 3rd day running and we are currently experiencing below freezing temperatures during the day as well as over night. How in god’s name are people meant to cope in these all electric houses may I ask?
If I had a power cut where I live I would freeze to death but for my wood burning stoves which our moronic government were intent on banning. Currently my driveway is a complete skating rink and road not much better so very dangerous for older folk like myself to venture out. With 2 replacement hips already I would be a complete idiot to attempt to go anywhere but don’t need to because I have wood burning stoves. This legislation of everything being geared to electric might be all very well for large cities but out in the countryside? I have just had a friend risk coming here to pick up some wood for her stove and have something warm to eat. We are being asked to consider warm air heat pumps….. something off is my reply to that!

I have a gas fire in one room and I'd be very reluctant to get rid of it, even gas central heating doesn't work without electricity.
I agree, putting all your eggs in one fragile basket all in the name of net zero is downright stupid. MR. Silliband.

We have gas central heating - relies on electricity. We have separate convector heaters if required.
Cook with oven, microwave, slow cooker (all electric), and gas hob - which can be lit by electric or any naked flame.
All this is probably much like everyone else.

In short, there is more of US than there is of THEM. At some point, folks will realise and send their thoughts to these zealots, preferably (but not necessarily) via the ballot box.
