Yes my wife has just done this at 8pm. Considering the demographic here not much sign of neighbours doing the same quite surprised.

 

Given the weather outside, everyone here has their shutters closed and, in any case, can't see anyone's house from here, except the side wall of the immediate neighbours, cos of hedges, trees and distances.

Good morning everyone. @Fourmerkland I had to use one of my battery operated candles as I was leaving home before eight for the quiz and the least said about that the better! Yesterday's prediction was correct. Today I intend making a start on my study (3rd and smallest bedroom). I want to demolish the desk - well at least the top section so that I can make a dedicated craft and jigsaw room and keep Cricket out. I normally sew on the dining room table but this room is readily available to Fuzzy Face so this is forcing my hand into getting something done.

 

On 12th January I order a new light from the big South American river site. It projects images of the Aurora Borealis, and/or the moon and galaxies, is a bluetooth speaker and a white noise producer so not one I could just nip out to town to buy. I was given an arrival date of 20th-27th January and when its hadn't arrived I decided to go and check the tracking on Amazon. Here is what I found:

I had checked before ordering that the company was based in the UK - which it is - but had I known all this I would not have bothered. Pity I couldn't really physically track my light - I think it might have been an interesting journey!

 

@Obelix-Vendée I can understand your frustration with the 'no shows' and badly prepared members of your stained glass window patch group. If I am not going to Canasta I always ring the co-ordinator to let her know and we have an agreement that when the weather is dreadful I will not be turning up and do not need to ring her. This is simply because the parking is poor and limited so I just brandish my pass and go on the bus but won't walk to the bus stop in horrid weather. I do quite enjoy that journey.

 

Christine's Garden is one of my faves too @Ante1 , it's just a nice, pleasant programme to watch any time

A Blackburn lass I think! I'm always drawn to that general area including Bolton. Carole Klein is another friendly Northener and used to live in Walkden

 

Yes, @Bluejayway, although she lived in Hertfordshire. I was sad when she passed away in 2023. She was such a breath of fresh air. I like Carol Klein also.

I'm sure Christine is still with us @Ladybird4 although she seems to find it amusing that it's been reported that she died

 

I remember hearing that she'd died as well @Ladybird4 . The confusion arose when a lady of the same name died in 2023.
I think if people Googled the name, the other lady's obituary appeared at the top of the search listing.

 

What a dull, dark morning.
But, if it's Tuesday, it must be art group, so I'll get my stuff together. Thankfully, it's not a 'tutored' group, so attendance is flexible.
