I think Starmer and Reeves are paragons of virtue compared with the last lot.

Our pharmacies can make substitutions without contacting the doctor. They can prescribe/dispense antibiotics for pink eye, uti's and all sorts of things without the patient having to go to the doctor. The government has decided that they are highly trained in their field of medicine and can be trusted to make the correct decisions in these issues. For obvious reasons, they have not been pushed into having to worry about being asked for narcotics. Our nurse practitioners are now being given permission to treat many more ailments than previously.

We still have a doctor shortage however I blame this on the feds. They should have geared immigration to a formula such as, "this many people" for "this many new doctors to treat them" . And also to new housing availability.

Problem here appears to lay with the doctor, he should state the substance and not a trade name.
I remember many years ago my Fathers doctor was a complete pain and always stated certain products, so the pharmacist couldn't change it for a generic item.
There was speculation at the time that GPs were getting a rake off from the drug companies for stating their product, true or not I dont know.

I remember 30years ago when I was going to the US they said that in the future most of the country will be Spanish speaking, but that was Arizona and California or S.W, mostly.

That's not always the case. There are several different producers of one of the drugs I take, most of which I've tried over the years. However, there is only one that really suits me, so the doctor has to order that particular make.
Last year it became unavailable across Europe, and I had no option but to accept an alternative. It didn't suit me, but was better than going without. I'm relieved that it is again available. It was a difficult few months.

I was really surprised at the numbers of Hispanic in Texas and a lot of orientals too. I was told, not sure it was accurate tho, that you had to be bilingual ( English…well American English! and Spanish) to work in most shops.

While induction hobs are desirable, those with implants, such as a pacemaker, would need to stay at least 2ft away, due to the electro-magnetic issues.

I read that the woman responsible for killing 2 wee girls in Wimbledon when she is supposed to have had an epileptic seizure and lost control of her car has been rearrested.
I may be wrong but there seemed something a bit fishy about the tragedy at the time.
I wonder if the woman has “ friends in high places”.
This reminds me of when my late Mum had a bad accident that was 100% not her fault. She was at a x roads stationary when a woman coming in the opposite direction put her foot on the accelerator instead of the brake and drove headlong into my Mum.
Mum had serious concussion, a hairline fracture of the skull and her passenger broke her pelvis.
Within minutes of the accident, the woman’s husband appeared and told his wife to say nothing to the police when they turned up.
Upshot, the woman was not prosecuted and the police refused to charge the woman with any driving offence. Guess what the woman’s husband did for a living? Mum found out he was a law lord!
Mum and her friend did not even get an apology, Mum also found out the woman had had 3 previous crashes within a short period of time. Took my Mum quite a few months to regain her confidence to drive again and her 2 month old car was a right off.
I hope the situation regarding the death of the wee girls is not another case of “ one rule for them and another for everybody else”.

I think the law has always been far from even handed.

It is one rule for them and another for us. If you remember the case of the young man who murdered his friend with a knife walked free because his parents were police officers.
