Some moron has fly tipped in our local woods. It isn't a massive pile compared to some but enough to fill a wheelie bin. The biggest lump is an old telly but what annoys me most, is the fact that they had to walk past a bin at the entrance in order to dump it 100m down the path.

There was a joinery company, well known in the area, nothing big. But they reinvented them selves many times over the years, each time going bust and starting up a week later with a different member of the families name at the head.

Someone who I knew worked there said they were all made redundant one Friday and told they will be remployed in a weeks time, will you all grab as many power tools as you can and take them home so the receiver doesn't get them.

Of course they all did, but none of them took the tools back, much to the bosses surprise.

I dealt with a rep that used to come in quarterly and they changed their company name at least 4 times in 2 years. It was widely known that you only payed them after you received the goods.

There was a shop nearby that closed one day and reopened soon after on the other side of the same street. The guy who ran it openly acknowledged that they were 50k in debt and knew the owner was going to be declared bankrupt, so they had a spending spree just before and then closed their doors. They reopened under the sons management (the father had run it before) and bought back all their stock for about 2k off the administration agent.

Just back from my weekly shop, and have had to increase my ‘dont buy’ list. I’m already boycotting the big companies who continue to trade with Russia, as I don’t wish to support countries who threaten or invade their neighbours. Now I have crossed off tinned prunes or cranberry sauce, unless I can find an alternative source. There was a stack of bottles of Southern Comfort on the reduced to clear shelf. I wonder if the supermarket was making sure they weren’t going to be stuck with them for the next four years? What is the world coming to?

Southern comfort is well over priced already, in my opinion.
Likewise jack Daniels, if we were to put a higher tariff on them I doubt any would be sold here.

I was interested to see that avocados being sold in our local Co-op come in two types. One lot are packed in those crinkly see-through plastic bags and cost less than £2 for 2 and the other lot are in a rather fancy cardboard box and cost just under £3 for 2. Identical looking fruits. The shelves were overflowing with the cheap ones and there were only a couple of boxes of the dear ones. The only difference that I could see was that the cheap ones come from Israel and the dear ones come from Spain. Locals voting with their wallets or what?

On my estate the small litter bins got replaced by huge bins. Soon after they were installed I noticed the handle of a child's scooter sticking out of one. Then signs appeared by the bin saying "no fly tipping" and warning of cameras. I guess bringing your unwanted goods from home and sticking them in a public bin is still counted as fly tipping.

We have certain people around here who just throw their rubbish outside the garden fence and it stays there, when I walk the dog its the same ones all the time with mounting rubbish outside them in the street.
Nobody does anything about them so they get away with it and it continues.

They should be evicted in my opinion and throw out on the streets themselves, but most are that certain section of society that the council have to house.

I’ve certainly seen people in our local seaside town getting out of their cars with plastic bags of what looks like domestic rubbish and stuffing them into the litter bins. Probably the same people that brazenly collect bagfuls of the big beach pebbles to take home for their gardens, despite the notices.

There's rules in other countries that require the owner to keep the frontage to the road clean and clear or face penalties. I can't see why we can't do the same, other than councils and police or the appropriate body wouldn't do a damn thing about it

A sad yet classic mentality of the country it seems. A small effort by the many could sort most of the mess I reckon

We keep our frontage clean but it isn't much of a problem. It is only a tarmac footpath and we remove the weeds that grow there - our neighbour never does.

Apart from that it is just the occasional can or piece of plastic or paper thrown from passing vehicles. Less commonly there is the occasional parts of cars that try to take the seemingly gentle bend too fast and get greeted by the big tree opposite. Sometimes the tree generously sends them across the road into our garden or into the telephone pole outside our place.

We've had a tractor with a muck spreader and the driver didn't swicht off the muck spreader when returning to the farm (at leased no one was tailgating him:biggrin:) we also see that the greedy broads on muck spreader are not high enough so muck falls off
