It’s 3C here, and rather grey. Very glad we spent so much time outside yesterday, it’s rather miserable out now.
What fun to go back with souvenir packs of tea, @Ante1. I’m not a lover of most teas, Earl Grey for me, and my favourite is Sainsbury’s own brand decaffeinated. Neither my mother or my mother in law could stand the stuff. Said it tasted as if I’d left scented washing up liquid in the cup.
We’ve certainly considered an EV, @Allotment Boy. In theory, it should be ideal, most of our journeys are local. However, as we make most of our journeys together, when our second car went to the breakers yard during Covid, we decided it wasn’t economic to replace it. Although our longer trips are getting fewer by the year, the one thing that would put me off an EV is the probability of ‘range anxiety’. Really don’t want to be fretting about running out of charge, or adding time to a long journey by having to hang around a charging point somewhere. I think our next car will have to be petrol, but we’ll keep an eye on the developing technology for the future.
Hope everyone has a reasonable day, and doesn’t overdo it.

      Good morning all.
I'm being lazy this morning so still in bed having a second cuppa -Yorkshire tea of course, the blend for hard water which I think does make a difference. What made you choose Yorkshire tea @Ante1 out of all our different blends? You deserve a good rest after all that sightseeing, made me feel quite tired just reading about it.
It's bitingly cold this morning with a very chilly northerly wind whipping round the house. About 4c but will feel like -1c apparently. Not going out in the garden yet then although if I kneel down to do some weeding at the back of the house it might be more sheltered there - or not!
Daughter's gone off to do her volunteer stint at a local food bank so there's no hurry. We do want to get some 2m x 3m bamboo screening erected against the retaining wall today as it's a two person job so will just have to put extra layers on.

I'll go against the trend and say both our cars are bright blue!

      Have a good Friday everybody.

i am quite excited to be going out and meeting old school friends. Some were not close friends at school, but have become so fairly recently. Others I was close to, have drifted away as we grew older. Such is life. I am not dressing 'up' but have chosen my outfit with care - cornflower blue jumper, toning scarf and jeans. I hope I hit it right!
No EV for us; we simply couldn't charge it at the caravan.
        Our car is blue, too!

We once had an elderly Nova which had been resprayed a tasteless shade of lavender. Our son learnt to drive in it, and once got stopped by the police for a random check. "Is this your car?" "No, it's my mum's. Do you really think I'd have chosen this colour?" "Fair enough, son. On your way!"

That was definitely one you could spot in a car park. My foot went through the floor one day, and it went to the scrap heap... at least cars are less likely to die of rust these days.

Our next car, should we need to replace our reliable Toyota Aygo, will probably be electric. Both our children have electric cars, and have adjusted to the need to charge them on long journeys. Our son has become adept at finding service stations with charging points, and with playgrounds for his two little boys. If you have young children, you're going to need to stop anyway, so planning in stopping points where the car can be topped up as well, makes sense. As we get older we're happier to take our time with journeys, so stopping part way for a coffee or lunch could be ok for us too. But, like @Allotment Boy , we're happy to wait a bit and see what advances are made in the technology before we seriously consider changing what we have now. I use public transport most of the time, leaving the car for OH. That's fine for me, because being retired I can take all day over a journey, but obviously wouldn't be practical (here in rural Ireland anyway) for someone travelling for work.

            Morning all.

I like red cars @Liriodendron. Mine is a red Megane Sport Tourer and I love it. It loves to cruise on motorways and is very comfortable. Takes a lot of plants and bags of compost. I bet yours doesn't wash the kitchen floor @Ladybird4!

We have light rain forecast. It's cloudy, cold and windy. Not a gardening day. I think I'll carry on with choosing photos for my album.

Greetings. Cold, wet and miserable here with fine rain falling. Been out to do the weekly shop and a brief visit to fabrics and threads shop to top up on some thread for an embroidery and found they had batik fabrics at half price so I took the ends of two rolls - enough for a summer frock and a blouse. So much for not buying any more fabric!

We started buying Zafiras because when we had visitors or Possum's school friends to drive about the extra seats were very handy. The boot space is big enough to get two cases on the bottom then a big quilt and the two dogs on top when we went on hols and the inside space was tall enough to take a clematis in its pot with its canes - an essential consideration. Oh, and OH's golf clubs. We still have one and take good care of her. The newer car is an Arona as we don't need all the space all the time. Both have excellent road holding and are great for long cruises up the motorway, cross-country when we're taking it slow and bendy windy local journeys.

I hope all lunches with friends have been thoroughly enjoyed. Good luck to anyone managing to garden in this weather.

                Good evening to Friday!

Work all done for the week, my leg is on the mend and there’s sausages cooking away in the oven. Oh - and I’ve done my click and collect shopping on the way home!

I’ve missed a day or two of chat so I hope everyone is doing ok.

Sains decaf tea bags fan here too @Ergates. There’s a good Welsh brew too - the tea isn’t grown here, but they were created to give a good tea for Welsh water apparently. Welsh Cake optional.

I have had a very nice day! We were joking that, as years go by, conversations have changed from kids, to grandkids, to ailments!
My casual outfit was fine. Made me feel confident. I had a tapas size kofta (still large) and a Greek salad. I was virtuous and passed on the pud!
Chatted non stop to my lift, but as she had no heating on in the car (and my coat was on the back seat!), I was really cold when I got home. We came back through @Plantminded's neck of the woods. Was noticeable how many daffs were out on the Wirral.
@AuntyRach missed what's wrong with your leg. Glad it's on the mend.
I have mustered family support tomorrow to mend the greenhouse panel, but, as snow is forecast tonight, it might not happen.

Good evening all. like @Penny_Forthem I have had a lovely day. There were only 5 of us at the meal today - usually 9 - but the others had appointments and other commitments. I had scampi for my lunch and I was so full after the main course that I had no room for dessert which was disappointing - but probably healthy. I hope that you don't have snow @Penny_Forthem and that with the help you mentioned you get your greenhouse repaired.

Good evening all. I just came home from visiting few neighbors, and presents delivery. Cold evening here, but very calm.
@lizzie27, I heard from several people that Yorkshire tea is the best, then I asked my dear friends here at GC, all all said that it's truth. So I decided to buy this brand. I always have Earl Grey, and Yorkshire tea is impossible to buy in Croatia. I'm not disappointment at all.
